Going abroad with toddler - take own nappies?

Sorry if stupid question - first time travelling with kids. We're taking the toddler to Cyprus tomorrow and leaving him there. Do we need to take our own nappies and swim nappies?

Nappies should be fine, but maybe take your own swimming nappies just incase.

If you use nappy bags definitely take them with you, I have never found them in Italy, even in the big hypermarket.

I would. I ran out one year and found nappies and swim nappies to be very expensive in Spain and the sizing confusing. You might be able to order them for collection airside at Boots in the airport ( depending on where you are flying from and any hand luggage allowance ).

I do because I find nappies to be more expensive in other countries. We would tend to only have access to the smaller shops not the big supermarkets

I’d take nappies. DS2 was allergic to pretty much all but Asda nappies, so I’d be wary of a holiday ruined by unexpected nappy rash (even if DS3 is a bit less reactive to everything).

Justkeeppedaling · 18/04/2022 10:16

Jeez! You'd need a whole suitcase just for nappies wouldn't you?

RandomQuest · 18/04/2022 10:17

I pack enough for the first day or 2 so it’s not an immediate rush but otherwise buy them there. They take up so much luggage space!

roarfeckingroarr · 18/04/2022 13:19

Thanks!

We'll chuck a pack in with the pram in it's protective bag for the hole.

Second question: can you take snacks on the plane bought before security?

Food yes. Liquids like yoghurt have to be less than 100ml.

Cyprus has Lidls, so see how close they are to your accommodation.

Non liquid then absolutely yes. For liquids the usual 100ml rule applies although there is an exception for baby food and milk in reasonable quantities for the flight.

bakey9 · 18/04/2022 19:27

It depends how long you are going for but nappies are so tightly packed now they don't take up much space. You can stuff some in the buggy pockets too. I find our large suitcase has loads of room because baggage weight allowance is so small now

bakey9 · 18/04/2022 19:28

We take the 90ml Ella's kitchen pouches and yoghurts etc and the pre made milk. on one flight in the US I had to open them and show the contents.

BertieBotts · 18/04/2022 19:30

I don't see why you would, you can buy them abroad and they take up loads of space. Assuming you have access to normal shops anyway, they will be expensive in places like holiday resorts.

The sizing is exactly the same as the UK so I'm not sure what is confusing about it?
