Any Vinted users on here.. Delivery issues

I've bought 4 items (12 days ago), and when I look at the Royal mail tracking, it just states "Item despatched to Royal mail." Does this mean that its not even in transit? I've contacted the sellers and, to be honest, they're just telling me that I have to wait. But for how long as I'm now out of pocket by almost £700?! Vinted are bloody useless as you have to leave messages to which you receive an automated response saying that they'll look into my enquiry. They don't. Has anyone had the same issue and should I just assume that I won't receive the items?

Also has atrocious issues with Evri.. One item apparently damaged in transit, one lost, and two returned to sender as the courier couldn't find my house 😭😭😭

I had a similar issue due to Hermes saying they'd delivered to a collection point but it hadn't arrived. It did get there eventually.

I think I'm right in saying when you pay for something on Vinted you pay an additional charge for an insurance (they call it something else). The key thing is not to mark the item as delivered or collected because until then the money isn't released to the seller. So if it never arrives the money comes back to you. It's actually the seller who'll be screwed if Evri lose the parcel as they'll have to pursue them.

Thanks for this. Very helpful x

I have used Vinted a lot and kitted out both kids for a recent ski trip. There are nice people selling useful items and there were the occasional hiccups but mostly ok.
i bought DS a Fitbit on there too (around £30 for a Versa Lite). No problems. Having had no issues so far, I was feeling good. I then bought a Nintendo Switch, paying for the buyer protection etc. It was marked as sent with an Hermes tracking code. No sign of it. I was reassured by the site assuring me that if it didn’t arrive I would be able to get a full refund. So I (stupidly) bought another one. It also didn’t arrive. The first seller didn’t respond and I realised they had no reviews. Clearly a scammer. The second seller responded and said that she was in a pickle because, technically, she was not supposed to have sold electronics on the site. I felt sorry for her but relaxed as I’d paid for protection and just had to wait for a refund.
The time limit for the first switch expired and I went on the site to claim my refund. No link. No button. I contacted support who said that I WAS DUE NOTHING because I should have known that electronics are not allowed. Support marked the switch as ‘delivered’. I was fuming. I told the second seller. At this point, according to Vinted, I had lost £ for 2 Switches.
long story short. The second seller successfully got a refund for both of us. To get the refund for the first switch, I filled out a money claim on the government site and emailed the COO with a deadline to refund the money. Support got in touch to say that they’d refunded the money.
the COO’s email address is available if you search the internet.
It’s absolutely awful that they would countenance keeping the money AND sell me buyer protection, a product that claims to insure my purchase. They are scoundrels on that front. But, even after all that, there is still an array of nice people at the other end selling useful used products, and I’ll probably still use the site for those (think £10 max) transactions.
