Isn't it awful on a day like this? Don't want to have to get dressed up to go to the park, I just want to wear my pjs outside with a cup of tea :(

Here are some Flowers to brighten your day.

FTEngineerM · 15/04/2022 13:45

Saaaame - I have one but it’s too dangerous for dc to go play in so we don’t ever use it.

I am ill too so I’d love nothing more than sitting in the garden in pjs with a cup of tea 😭!

AHungryCaterpillar · 15/04/2022 13:49

I use to have no Garden or even a balcony, it was horrible because it was a top floor flat as well so getting out to the park wasn’t easy (no lift just stairs) hated summer!

xfgdhfgnhkk007 · 15/04/2022 14:21

I just feel really sad today :(

@FTEngineerM do you mean you have a garden but it's too dangerous to use?

We feel the same, trying to sell it but buyer first pulled out and second is ticking along but obviously it’s taking twice as long as we envisaged.

Yeah there are a few massive concrete drops and with two babies I can’t go out there 🥴.

Sorry you feel sad about it, can you put something similar to pjs on, like soft joggers and a t shirt and then take some tea to a local field? We did that last summer and it almost felt like relaxing in the garden.

ItsSnowJokes · 15/04/2022 15:08

I was you during lockdown 1 and 2. It was horrendous. Everyone saying what an amazing time they were having with their kids in the gardens and the heatwave we had etc..... I was sat inside (except the hours and hours we walked around the park (not allowed to sit in those days) getting so angry about it all.

We sold as soon as we could. And the priority was a garden. We moved a year ago and last summer we did the garden as a priority so we can sit out there.

It is miserable and so horrible for you. Can you find something good to watch, open the windows, have a few drinks and just chill out?

Camomila · 15/04/2022 15:32

I feel you, we have communal gardens but I can't really relax in them with the DC.

We've just come back from the playground, it was nice but tiring, especially as the bag of sand toys didn't fit underneath the pushchair so I had to carry it.

ImInStealthMode · 15/04/2022 15:39

Same! Feeling a bit despondent today as it feels a shame to sit inside and 'waste' the good weather, but also don't have the energy to make myself presentable and go out somewhere. If I had a garden I could sit in it and read in my PJs / joggers.

We're selling later in the year and outside space is the priority for our next place.

Sn0tnose · 15/04/2022 16:08

Same here. There are no cool areas in ours, so if it’s warm outside, it’s like an oven indoors. Lockdown was not fun. And some utter bastard in one of the houses over the road is having a bbq, which is one of my most favourite things ever, so I now have bbq envy (usually you can only smell weed).

veggiesticks · 15/04/2022 16:08

We don't have any outdoor space at all (we have a 2 bed flat in central London) but to be honest we're a family who likes to get out every day. Staying at home in my PJs would exacerbate my depression I think. Just got home after a day out at a big park, we left at 9.30am with my 3yo, spent hours in the sandpit and slides, doing the Easter funfair, fountains and outdoor soft play. DH and I are exhausted but DD had a brilliant day. She would get really bored just being in the same garden every day.

LittleWhingingWoman · 15/04/2022 16:25

We had a garden. I couldn't cope with the giant spiders that seemed to gather constantly inside and out.

Foxes ripped apart my beloved cat and the foxes seemed to be getting bigger and bigger where I lived. The night was theirs. I started to hate them and their horrible sounds.

Sometimes I miss having a garden but then I remember the spiders and the horrible foxes and feel better that my remaining cat is safe.

I prefer a cup of tea in bed!

LittleWhingingWoman · 15/04/2022 16:28

My partner also says that in his previous relationship he had a massive garden which cost a lot more when they were looking at house prices, but then his job meant he never got to enjoy it. His ex would have her friends over in the daytime but it would be dark and cold when he got home.

MyNameIsAngelicaSchuyler · 15/04/2022 16:28

We never used to have a garden either - series of flats - and when we finally got one I felt like the luckiest person ever. Big hugs, it sucks 💐

Intermsof · 15/04/2022 16:28

I've got a massive garden but the weather is shit here if it makes you feel any better. It will be cloudy all weekend as well.

Thehonestybox · 15/04/2022 16:31

Yep, for 12 long years. Put your name for an allotment. I got mine a few years ago and I use it like a garden, garden furniture, patio area, have a coffee in the shed, etc. As long as you're keeping it tidy and growing food, the council are happy for you to have it

Gonewalking · 15/04/2022 16:35

I wish I had a garden as well....... lockdown was horrendous

I was about to type the same. Just got home from work and it’s miserable.
