Can we talk coffee beans please?

I drink strong black coffee with no sugar. I would like to use my stove top coffee pot more often, but haven’t found a coffee bean I like. I use my sons coffee grinder but I find his beans taste rough although I like the strength.

Any recommendations please?

Try paddy & scotts, my dh loves strong black coffee and he loves their coffee bags, we have no need for beans currently but would definitely buy if we did.

Not a coffee drinker myself but my husband and children ( adults!) like Guatemalan coffee which is readily available in supermarkets.

I think you probably don’t like the dark roast coffee or anything too acidic perhaps? Personally I get my coffee beans from Dark Woods coffee, one of their blends would be worth a go.

I adore 'extract coffee' when made with an expensive machine in a quality coffee shop - I have my own bean to cup coffee machine but I cant make it quite as well as the professionals, and it really is excellent when done right. As a day to day option we have been very pleasantly surprised by asdas own extra special Colombian roast, and it's cheap as anything.

Lavazza but try the creme one which is more smooth

I like Waitrose Colombian - rounded and smooth. Grind to a medium fine ( 5 pulses on my little Krups grinder ) and then brew in my 9 cup ( tiny cup sizing , so makes enough for a mug )

If you are grinding your own then I suggest you find a roaster and chat to her or him about your likes and dislikes. You may even be able to purchase small sample packs to try. These might be a single roast or a blend. Often blends are better because they contain some beans for strength and others for more caramel or chocolatey notes.

Having said that, I agree with the above that the Columbian is worth a go.

A friend recommended boracoffee.com/ who sell their coffee online, and we find their Bora Blend chocolatey, smooth, well balanced and delicious. It's also independent.

200 Degrees Coffee - Brazilian Love Affair. I got my coffee machine in October and these were the first beans I tried with it, I've not had the urge to try anything else

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Looks like I have some sampling to do over the next few months.
