School shoes for long, narrow feet

Not sure where to put this. It’s not S&B, or really secondary ed, or parenting…

DS is 13, he needs new school shoes. Plain black leather/leather like lace ups. Nothing trainery - do no plain Nikes or Converse that often come up on this threads.

Problem is, he’s now a size 12! Clarks, Start Rite and M&S school uniform shoes now all too small. Size 13 is all understandably men’s sizes, but they are just far too wide. They’d need a ridiculous amount of insoles and heel grips to fit.

Have tried Clarks, Next, M&S and Schuu to no avail.

Can anyone point me in the direction of narrow fit/low volume black lack ups in an adult size 12?

Thank you @TeenPlusCat, are they particularly narrow fitting?

Absolutely no idea. I looked on their web page and searched narrow fit.
French&Sons are the 'go to' place round here (Southampton) for non average feet.

I have narrow feet and know the importance of getting shoes that fit.
There are a few companies that specialise in narrow shoes but they are eye watering expensive. (James Inglis for men)
DS has narrow feet and I always take him to a small independent family run shoe shoe that has been there forever.
The staff know their shoes inside out and know which makes and models come up small or narrow. Although we never have much choice, he’s always come away with shoes that fit.
I would recommend trying a similar shop where you are, or even travelling to one.

@TherebytheGraceofGodgoI, that’s exactly what we used to do. All three independent shoe shops within an hours drive have closed down in the last couple of years. I’m also slightly reluctant to spend £100+ on shoes at this point in the academic year, as he’s grown 2 whole sizes since September.

I may have to put on my big girl pants and go to a shopping centre with a Clinkard’s. I’ve been avoiding busy, indoor places as I also care for a CEV immunosuppressed cancer patient.
