Open University?

I was planning to begin my online degree in September but it has now been cancelled due to lack of applicants. So I am trying to find another and have started looking the the open university. Has anyone studied with them? Do you recommend?

Nope!

Mine was in a completely different, entirely unconnected subject.

@Aliceforgot

I don't feel confident enough to apply for a postgraduate when I didn't do well in my first degree and I did the wrong one. And any postgraduate I fancy would require a first degree in the subject I should have done!. It's a bugbear of mine.
Honestly, if you really would like to have a go at a post grad in a different subject have a chat with the OU. My own experience is that they are really flexible and work with individuals and their own circumstances/backgrounds. I 'messed up' my undergrad elsewhere (but did graduate) but shouldn't have been eligible for post grad study in my desired area. I had a chat with one of the tutors at an open day who directed me to the best person to speak to for academic advice in order to move forward, which I did. They asked me what I felt went wrong in my undergrad and I explained the circumstances. They recommended I apply for the post grad and they would take my circumstances into account when applications were assessed - I got a place on the course. I was well supported and succeeded in line with my academic ability. I am now studying for a PhD with the OU.

That's really nice to know @JustOneMoreStep and gives me hope. Maybe I will do that! I do have an A at A Level in the subject I'd choose which may help. It's really hard to make the right decisions at 18, and I wasn't mature enough to even really handle being an university at the time which didn't help.

My dad did started his BA Hons in the inaugural year and went on to successfully study for his PhD through the OU. He has nothing but good to say about it. It certainly gave him the opportunity he would never have had otherwise. Hard work though as he was working full time as well.
