Hi there!!!
Has anyone had experience/have any advice or tips please… had a growth scan today (35 weeks) at which i was told that baby is breech and they want to do an ECV (?) in 2 weeks and if that’s unsuccessful I’ll have to get a section..!
I am heartbroken as I’ve got my heart set on a natural labour if possible!!! Is there anything anyone can advise I can do to turn baby at home? Or at least help me try so I can feel a little more at ease.

right breech delivery as mentioned earlier (induced trial labour)
side effects for dc taken straight after birth into intensive care (because last stage lasted more than 2 hours & baby came out blue & at nearly 8lbs was in intensive care for a couple of days (no long term side effects at all thank god)
Me stiches like the Bayeux Tapestry - caused me a lot of long term issues plus the most god awful haemorrhoids that I suffered agony from for years eventually (after decades & heavy blood loss) I had had a full haemorrhoidectomy - I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy - Honestly op have a caesarean - the whole point in having a good birth with a healthy baby afterwards. Yes caesareans take a bit of getting over but so does a bad delivery (sitting & feeding baby was very painful for quite a long time)

We didn't know our son was breeched until we got to the hospital and I was already in labour. I decided to go for a c-section as it was lower risk for him. The c-section went well and I was able to breastfeed right away. I didn't have any issues bonding.

@findingsomeone

Don't understand the biscuit. Women become obsessed with a 'natural birth'. It's not always in the best interest of the mother or the baby to have a vaginal birth and women are deterred unreasonably from Caesarean sections. There are a disgustingly high number of women with severe birth injuries from being pushed into 'natural births' that were inappropriate clinically. There is more than one way to skin a cat.
I found a natural birth to be the absolute worst experience. I would never again have one. 17 years on and I can still feel physically sick at the thought of what it was like.

I had a breech baby last year. Went for CS over ECV- sounds very painful and not a great chance of it working! CS was fine, bounced back within days and bonded with my baby really well. If I had another baby I'd opt for CS again.
I wouldn't have a breech natural birth, a friend had one (undiagnosed breech) and it sounds horrific. Dangerous for everyone.
If you have your heart set on natural birth you might as well try ECV. Then at least you've tried everything!
Out of curiosity why are you so keen on natural
Birth? Not trying to spark a debate/ have a go- just curious.

The c section might pose risks to you (which will be safely managed by the medical team) but the ECV/natural birth/breech birth all pose risks to your baby. I would be going straight for the c section if baby doesn't turn naturally.

My baby did turn herself at 35 weeks but never got engaged enough to come out in the timeframe the doctors wanted even after a day with the balloon in they couldn't break my waters (high risk pregnancy, GD amongst other issues) cried my eyes out about having a section at the time, within a week after I was thanking my lucky stars. C Sections are a pretty good birth experience overall.

One positive of having a breech baby is they have the sweetest little froggy legs. My daughter is 9 months old now and still sometimes sleeps with her legs folded in froggy position.

My eldest was a footling breech, I tried everything to get her to turn (including acupuncture- I fainted) because I was desperate for the calm hypno birth I'd planned.
In the end they made me have a c section 2 weeks early as she was in such a dangerous position - I loved it, absolutely wonderful experience. 10/10, would choose it any time!
