Can anyone recommend any sites where I can buy second-hand cheap summer clothes.
I can not afford to buy new and literally have £20 max spare for shorts, t shirts, work clothes etc.

Thank you

Keep an eye on local facebook pages, ours has women's clothes being given away frequently. size 8-20 ime

Tabitha789 · 14/04/2022 22:01

What size are you op, I'm having a clear out x

Summerclothes · 14/04/2022 22:05

Thank you! I keep an eye out but I don’t see many clothes in my size and not many of the bundles are local to me. I do keep looking though.

We have a charity shop near us where every item is a pound, and they have some great stuff. Is there one near you?

Summerclothes · 14/04/2022 22:08

@Tabitha789 Thank you! I am a size 8. Also quite short x

I'm 18, sorry babes I'll drown you!!! There's loads of groups on Facebook giving stuff away. Good luck xxx

Car boots are fab for clothes. Items are usually £1 each, sometimes less. I have bought some of my best clothes from car boots Smile

I find vinted really good for cheap second hand clothes plus you can offer a price.
I recently spent less than £30 on adults trainers & hoody plus childrens football boots, 2 pairs of jeans & 5 t shirts.
That was including postage too.

MrsSkylerWhite · 14/04/2022 22:27

Charity shops. There are always loads of size 8s because not very many people are. If you haven’t been in before, promise, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. 😃

Summerclothes · 14/04/2022 22:37

@Tabitha789 Thank you for considering me. I will keep my eye out on local pages. X

Vinted I have picked up and sold loads on there recently, lots of brand new things for a a few quid

RockinHorseShit · 14/04/2022 22:40

Depop can be good for bargains, & seems especially good for smaller sizes.

Tinks15 · 14/04/2022 22:46

Get yourself on Vinted OP.

Summerclothes · 14/04/2022 22:46

Thank you for all the suggestions, I will try them all.

Ebay is the obvious one

firstbabyloading · 14/04/2022 22:48

Vinted i have found is great, search for something in your size, find a top for example then have a look through what else that seller has on their page and you can buy bundles, therefore making a saving as you get a % off and it saves on postage x

abw94 · 14/04/2022 22:51

Vinted! I buy most of my clothes on there. Good name brands at great prices 😃

shreddednips · 14/04/2022 23:07

Agree with PPs about Vinted. I never buy anything new because you can find pretty much anything on there for a really good price.

PartyPlan · 15/04/2022 07:36

I’m absolutely loving Vinted too. The search facility is great, so you can specify sizes, brands you like, colours etc.

MyNameIsAngelicaSchuyler · 15/04/2022 07:37

I’m wearing what I have already.

Mabelface · 15/04/2022 07:38

All of my clothes, bar underwear, are bought from charity shops. All good quality and cheap as chips.

Innocenta · 15/04/2022 07:41

Agree that Vinted is fab, and Depop is mostly younger people so lots of size 8.

EdgeOfSeventeenAndThreeQuarter · 15/04/2022 07:46

Vinted! Although I’m struggling with the “one in, one out” policy we’re supposed to adopt. I love the fact that it’s the best of the last 20+ years, so much more interesting that everything looking the same in shops.

I hope it doesn’t become a victim of its own success because right now it’s wonderful.

I think you'd be better off going to a shop and tying things on. So a trip to Primark, ideally one near a big Asda as George at Asda do some great basics, especially their packs of T-shirt's or vests.

I've recently bought from everything 5 pounds and 7 out of 8 items was prefect. I really looked at the pictures and the size they said was on the model and considered my height shape in comparison. As you have to pay your own return postage I won't bother to return the one item.

Also worth looking on H&M and signing up as a member as they give offers and members discounts and free postage. Often stuff reduced when only limited sizes left.
