I'm having a wobble and a really difficult day. I have a 6 year age gap between youngest DC and I just can't cope with the little one.

Can you tell me the good things about having a large age gap!

I've got 18 years between my son and daughter. 6 years is nothing :)

How old are they? I have a 6 year age gap and most of the time I love it! They do get on really well which helps. I think the baby days were harder until my youngest could 'do things' but from 2 onwards it has been amazing

My DH and SIL are 6 years apart. Their parents had a lot more time to focus on the individual crucial stages for each eg reading. SIL really mothered DH and then as they grew up they have a great relationship. There's not so much competition between them as with me and my DB (3year gap).

DC2 is old enough to understand that DC1 will be feeding constantly, need lots of attention in the early days.

More time to focus on them individually when little. Most of my friends with 2 close together never took DC2 to any baby activities as they couldn’t take/didn’t enjoy taking a 2-3 year old too.

DC1 can look after DC2 (and friends) when playing etc… I’ve just taken my 3 year old for a play date at soft play and almost 9 year old came along and supervised them so I could chat and drink my coffee!

One set of nursery fees at once (biggest factor for us.)

Your body has plenty of time to heal between pregnancies and births.

One set of university fees at once, if they go.

I’ve got 5 years 10months and I love it. It’s a great gap. The early days are always tough to adjust to though, regardless of the age of older DC.

Also you won't have one doing GCSE's while the other does A levels!
