Center Parcs help please!

Can’t find the answer anywhere on the site, but I know we have many Center Parcs experts here!

I’d like to add 2 guests to a booking, but we have booked a 3 bed lodge and will then have 7 guests.
The youngest will be 5 and can sleep on a camp bed but I’m guessing they won’t allow that.

Is it possible to change the lodge at this stage!? Going next month. Or do they let little ones sleep on a camp bed?

Thanks!

We've been counted and names checked on the way in before now. My two both have Welsh names and the man checking us in once leaned in and asked them to pronounce their names!
No one checked when we went at Christmas last year, I guess it's ad hoc.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 13/04/2022 22:33

@Peasandcabbage we’ve not been since this last year so maybe their booking procedures have changed. We were in Longleat.

That sounds quite arduous and invasive.and despite us never smuggling extras in, I wouldn’t be keen to go again if that’s how they’re running things now.

We take our 5 year old as a two year old - no one ever says anything! And 2 y/o can be added to otherwise full lodges. You are restricted on some of the things you can book. I.e your pseudo 2 y/o can’t do some of the older kids activities. But you could just book them in under a different name, as long as they’re not doing so the same thing at once, if that makes sense.

No one has ever looked in our boot btw, barely a cursory glance in the car. They never clock the 2 y/o is a robust 5 y/o!

It's 1 bed per person unless they are under 2. Any activity you book (this now includes swimming) asks for the name of the participant so even if you did sneak him in he wouldn't be able to do anything. We were there last week and they asked who was in my car and checked how many people were in it.

AnnaSW1 · 13/04/2022 22:39

Things are different since covid. You need name and lodge number for everything including pool. Unless you're not going to bring one kid to any activity, meal or swimming then it won't be a good move to sneak a kid in.

I know someone went in a cabin for 8 and had 9- They bought a day pass and went first day and stayed the whole time - no one checked and they could still go swimming and restaurants etc..
just hide in the car - they've never checked for us! X

@NeedleNoodle3

No, I’ve been going for 27 years and they’ve always done it.
Wow! Why?
ToryWantsBorisOut · 13/04/2022 23:30

We just booked one of the adults in as a day guest for the 2 days they wanted to do activities. They stayed in the lodge and accepted that if there was a fire no-one would look for them.

Thanks very much!!

It seems there are lots of changes for the worse at Center Parcs since Covid Sad

You can’t have day passes any more.

No evening babysitting.

You have to book your swimming, can only go in for 3 hours and you can’t book every day of your trip.

Not happy!! Anyway back to the original point - I rang them today, there are no bigger lodges available, they won’t do a day pass and they won’t let the 5 year old go on a camp bed, so that’s that. Such a shame!

How about two two bed lodges or an additional one bedroom?

Hobnobswantshernameback · 14/04/2022 14:36

I don't get why you booked it and then realised you couldn't take a five year old with you
Surely you know how many people are in your party and book accordingly Confused

Floralnomad · 14/04/2022 15:53

I thought you could swim without booking from 6-9pm .

ChocolateRiver · 14/04/2022 15:59

The last time we went we were told that only children under 2 could be additional and we would need to bring our own travel cot. Any older than 2 and they counted in the numbers. So officially, no you couldn’t put your 5 year old on a camp bed. I’m sure plenty of people have done though given then cost.
