Dd birthday in a month. Nothing organised. Have no idea. She wants a party but doesn't know what.
Have a healthy budget (I think!!) and just need an idea of what 9yo like.

You can either book a while package (bowling, laser quest, the local nature reserve, pizza express) or hire a hall and an entertainer or do it all at home.

Out of those options, what do you prefer?

Trampoline parties, bowling parties, climbing parties, pamper parties (nails mostly), science parties, cinema parties, escape room parties and ice skating parties.
My dc attended or hosted these sorts of parties at that age.

BlueChampagne · 13/04/2022 15:28

Trampoline, climbing, swimming, horse riding ...

Triffid1 · 13/04/2022 15:29

What does she like doing? At 9, my top tip is to keep it to the child's best friends and then you can really do whatever you like. A trip to the cinema and for pizza afterwards. A day out somewhere - (could be "cultural" eg theatre, museum or whatever or more activity eg biking, adventure park whatever).

Spudina · 13/04/2022 15:30

We have done climbing and laser tag for older kids. My 10 year old still likes trampoline parks. Bowling?

Titsflyingsouth · 13/04/2022 15:33

Would echo this - doesn't have to be cinema, could be trampolining, bowling, quasar etc. But activity followed by pizza/Nando's/ Wagamamas etc by far the easiest option.

Karaoke room

Ok thanks. Our trampoline park is a nightmare every time I've been to a party there it's so disorientating trying to find a dc.
Bowling is a good idea. I don't even know if where I live has a bowling alley. Will investigate. Cinema. Do they like this? Is it not boring because there's not much interaction, or maybe I'm wrong here!

I had the idea of a horse riding party but wondered if anyone might be put off this because it could be scary for some. I mean I've seen the ponies used and they're small and happy and the school is good but don't want anyone to feel they're too scared to attend.

But what does your DD like to do? Chances are her friends also like whatever it is. So cinema is great if she loves cinema and a trip to pizza express is where they can all chat about the movie and interact.

Does she like riding? And does she have one or two best friends who also do? In which case, book that.

She's old enough to have interests I'd think, that you can then incorporate into an activity?

RicStar · 13/04/2022 16:13

My dd is 9 nearly 10, she has been to sleep over, escape room game, go ape, garden games and, baking parties recently, all well recieved.

AngelsWithSilverWings · 13/04/2022 16:22

At that age my DD enjoyed swimming pool parties , gymnastics parties , baking parties , sleepover parties and pamper parties.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 13/04/2022 16:24

DS is having a trampoline party.

Davros · 13/04/2022 16:58

Swimming party was good at pool with gentle slope, wave machine, lazy river, slide

SquitMcJit · 13/04/2022 17:02

At that age we had a film night at home - 6 friends round to watch a film they all were interested in, made a homemade pick and mix sweet station, fruit juice cocktails with fruit and loads of funky straws etc and then let them order a pizza. They liked it - felt grown up and different from parties at bowling etc ( which they also loved too)

SquitMcJit · 13/04/2022 17:03

At 10 we had a bath bomb making party run at a local shop
