Bad scar under nose after vessel cauterized, really unreasonably upset

Had my nose cauterized today. I know it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but when I came home dp pointed out scar. It looks like a nosebleed but won't budge. I wore a mask straight after the procedure so didn't notice.

Will it get better? Just super dashed as I've had a really shitty few weeks with a broken arm and high risk pregnancy and just felt like I was beginning to get back to normal.

Dp seems annoyed with me I went for the cauterization. I just feel spectaculary alone tonight not knowing whether I'm scarred forever and getting into a right silly state.

Thanks @Knittingchamp I think he has been taking a lot of the slack so I kind of get it

Just googled silver nitrate stains and now see some people have them forever. The hospital said three weeks though so I'll cling to that

Just feeling vulnerable at the moment. Took mask off to have a drink if water at work and was instantly asked what happened to my nose so it's a bit obvious.

Ah, I had exactly that after I had a lump removed from inside my nose as a little kid (and then of course it was all cauterised) - it was like a giant scab, I was mortified because I thought it looked like a big bogey.

I picked some off which made it bleed, but the rest dropped off after a week or so. No scar left behind.

Why don't you just call the hospital where it was done and ask about it? Most likely the receptionist will need to speak to the doc and get them to call you but you can pitch it on the basis you need to get the appropriate treatment for it.

Just seen the update

Hope it clears
