Jet2 Assistance line - anyone managed to get through?

And if so, what time of day/week did you call?
We are flying from Manchester, not till half term but it's been so bad at Manchester recently according to both news and friends, we want some reassurance and to prepare DS (who has ADHD).
I've been on hold for half an hour twice, once this afternoon and once on Friday afternoon so I can obviously try a morning call.
Not helping is the hold music which includes Rick Astley!

I managed to get through to Jet 2 customer services on Friday afternoon. I was on hold for 54 minutes though.

I guess I'll just have to grin and bear the hold music for longer then.

I would wait until after Easter if you can. The airports are chaos at the moment and the airlines are snowed under

Good point. I might wait till the middle of next week actually as my DCs are back in school on Tues but I know some have another week and might be heading off on holiday Mon/Tues.

What is it that you need to ask them?

drspouse · 11/04/2022 16:28

I need to find out what exactly we get in terms of assistance - his worst thing is queueing and crowds aren't great either. We are going from Manchester to Jersey and last time we flew from Manchester we got to go through security quickly (but what is quickly, at the moment?), but we still had to stand for ages in the check in queue - can we avoid that?
Checking in online is so variable and often they just combine the baggage drop and the check in anyway so it's totally pointless.
And we also need to know what we get in Jersey - last time we flew, on the way home we waited for AN HOUR for someone to come and find us to escort us through security, only to find we couldn't all go through with him (which was the case in Manchester), we would have been quicker to go through all together without waiting for the escort. We haven't been to Jersey before but the airport website seems to imply that other family members can't go through security quickly, only one companion.

We also need to double check we can get on first at both ends, and what exactly they will ask him to do with his Switch/tablet as if they randomly ask him to put it away during a period with lots of waiting that won't be popular.

When I last flew with dd the only assistance with asd was the offer of a little vehicle to drive us to the gate, completely unnecessary. We couldn't jump the queue at passport control

Name99 · 11/04/2022 18:26

Has special assistance got to be requested over the phone, can it be done online?

brusselsprout5 · 11/04/2022 18:30

1 hour 10 mins of terrible music before I got through! Hang in there!!

Yes, there is no way to contact them online.

When was that, and was it Manchester? Because that's worse than our experience which was 2018. There is never really a queue at Passport Control going out but we at least got to go through security quickly.

Is booking assistance direct with the airport an option? Perhaps they’re easier to contact than the airline? I know this exists in some places but I haven’t recently used Manchester Airport so not sure if it’s a thing there.

CharlotteRose90 · 11/04/2022 20:00

What assistance does he need? I work at the airport and right now fast track isn’t on. Queues are every single day currently. If your son needs assistance the only thing Jet2 offer is he can get priority check in and priority boarding. He also needs to wear a sunflower lanyard and that way he can go down the assistance lane. That lane does get busy so he will need to queue then. If he doesn’t need a wheelchair then he won’t be escorted or taken directly to the gate, he’ll have to make his own way on his own or with whoever he travels with. If he travels alone then you can take him to security at Manchester and at jersey but that’s it.
