Want to avoid spoilers, but anyone else find today's words a bit odd?!

OP posts:
JaninaDuszejko · 11/04/2022 11:19

Yes, it was an 'interesting' selection.

Frogsonglue · 11/04/2022 11:21

I always assumed the words were automatically generated but I guess not?

Yes, they were strange. Someone was having a laugh, I reckon.

SageRosemary · 11/04/2022 11:26

Yes, very odd, I thought they might have been picked by a 90 year old man. Certainly didn't appear to be a random generation. I failed today, got 3 out of 4, missed the second one.

SpeckledlyHen · 11/04/2022 11:28

I tried this for the first time today and the word on the bottom right I thought very strange.. someone having a giggle I suspect

Frogsonglue · 11/04/2022 11:31

I normally do it with my 7yo, glad I didn't today

Yes, I raised an eyebrow at these

I assume it has a different meaning in the US.
LemonRedwood · 11/04/2022 11:59

If it's US based, then the fourth one is much more innocent in US dialect than in the UK!

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 11/04/2022 12:05

Word 4 has an innocent meaning.

Funnily, I saw there was a thread on todays, had 4 letters on Word4 after my elimination words so got that word straight away knowing it was likely to be slightly controversial...

Yes I raised an eyebrow at the selection today. Just happy to have won really though!

The top left word has a slightly archaic innocent meaning in the UK. No excuses for top right though.

I got an "albatross" yesterday! I didn't know that was possible

Today’s fourth word is not English. 😡

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 18/05/2022 06:14

Very commonly used in English, though.

Gingerkittykat · 18/05/2022 06:18

I didn't get the 4th word but agree it is commonly used in English, I just checked and it is also a valid UK Scrabble word!
