I'm heading to the garden centre tomorrow to buy a small pretty flowering plant for a small planter I have. Like really small!

What can I buy that looks pretty now and will last a while, and grow back time after time please?

Primula.

But if the planter you have is that small, you will need to make sure it doesn't dry out over the summer. Small pots can need watering several times a day in hot weather.

I need more info :)

  1. what's the size of the planter

  2. do you want an indoor or outdoor plant?

  3. are you going to look after it or do you need a plant that will look after itself so to speak

  4. how much light you have in your house?

Or you could get a cactus :) they have such a great personality. They are only prickly on the outside.

Saxifrage - plant small with lots of delicate flowers

If you like flowers how about a geum? They flower non stop from now to October (mine still had flowers in December) and come back. I think they are really beautiful.

'And where? Geums love a sunny spot and fertile, moist soil; they will do well in a container provided you keep up with watering.' (from the Guardian article above)

Depending how small, erysimum. Smells great, bees love it and it’ll flower for most of spring and summer
