Kids - Things to do in 2022

My DDs are away with their Dad for the Easter holidays and I'm trying to think of something fun for when they get back. I've decided to do a list of fun stuff to do in 2022 and put it up ready for their return. So far I've thought of..:

Movie night
Spa night
Bowling
Cinema
Games night
Sleepover in lounge
Cool a 3 course meal
Kite flying
Shopping spree
Go to the beach

Looking for more ideas... thanks in advance!

How old are they? And are you looking for evening things or daytime too?

Kite22 · 08/04/2022 22:33

How old are they?

liveeverysecond · 08/04/2022 22:34

@Snowwhiteandthesevendwarfs 9, 11 and 13. Looking for both. Things to do weekends and also odd evening. Want to try and make more memories, rather than let the weeks disappear!

Local aquariums/museums near me offer overnight stays (Sleep with the sharks/Dino Snores) - the Natural History Museum does it too.
Also zoos often offer Zoo Keeper experiences or Breakfast/Dinner with X animals.
Go & see a big theatre production /ballet / opera
Pony trekking/riding
Llama/Alpaca walking
High ropes/Go Ape
Quad biking
Segways
Clay pigeon shooting

Head out for a breakfast picnic.
Go stargazing
Send your name on the next NASA mission (around the moon on Artemis)
Go fruit picking
Go hire bikes in a scenic place
Find a natural swimming or paddling place
Book afternoon tea (groupon and wowcher have deals quite often)
Go on a train journey
More ambitious baking like cinnamon rolls, fancy breads, hot cross buns, churros and doughnuts

Get lost and let them find their way home (with you obviously, but using an actual map, not Google maps)

Make smores

Visit elderly relatives

Roll down a hill

Try watersports

Get them to plan, shop for and cook a meal in turn. (Set budget beforehand)

PleaseYourselfandEatTheCrusts · 09/04/2022 14:34

Camp in the garden

Dry slope/indoor skiing
River swimming

HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime · 09/04/2022 22:56

For cheap and indoors learn a card game a week.
During lockdown I bought a set from etsy that had a game book, two packs of cards and four card holders so Dd could play properly instead of having to always reorganise her cards as her hands were too small to hold them all. Once we learn a new game we play for pennies/ haribo

liveeverysecond · 10/04/2022 17:20
