It's eye wateringly expensive for a large family 🙈

Not sure if they exist but if you have Tesco club card vouchers you can exchange them for 3 times the amount towards your entry!

There was thread on here in the last few weeks about the Eden Project and what a spectacular waste of time and money it is. Maybe have a good look into it before committing 🙂

I honestly wouldn’t bother, it’s gone really downhill and yes exceptionally expensive!

I’ve been twice, first time around 10 years ago I was blown away, loved it, great day out.

Then visited again last September… it was tired looking, I don’t think a single exhibit has been updated, the food was expensive and the cafe was dated and all just a bit shabby.

The outside gardens all needed a good tidy up too, weeds everywhere and just needed a bit of love!

God only knows what they’re spending all the administration fees on Confused

Do any of your children have a BP badge?

Like the PP We went not long after it opened and had a brilliant day, couldn't wait to go back. We did last summer and it was OK but really not great. DC were a bit bored and we dragged it out because DH likes to get his money's worth! Food options were expensive and not great tbh.

SpringHasSprungYay · 08/04/2022 20:58

How disappointing 😔

And we don't live locally.

Take a picnic because the food is £££ and not worth it.

Heligan is looking much more affordable. Has anyone been there?

My Nan worked at Heligan before the gardens were lost after WW1. My nephew regularly goes to Eden with his special needs school to do things like plant bulbs and see what's in the domes. Both venues are charities putting a huge amount into the local community, providing jobs in an area heavily dependent on the tourist season from Easter to October.

There's a McDonalds on a roundabout between Eden & Heligan if you want a cheap meal. You can bring your own food from Lidl or Aldi from home if you're self catering. You can take wellies and spend the day at the beach if you want a free day out. Just please don't complain about charitable local tourist attractions being over priced when they are having to pay NMW, rising NI costs & fuel costs and trying to stay afloat after the pandemic.

Yes! Heligan is beautiful and well worth a visit - if you’re in that area it’s also not far from Mevagissey, that’s a lovely little harbour to stop by.
LoudingVoice · 08/04/2022 21:33

@HewasH2O there’s no way the lack of investment at Eden is solely down to the pandemic - the recent gardens yes maybe but the exhibits in the biomes hadn’t changed since I was there at least a decade ago and were really shabby.

Kezzie200 · 08/04/2022 21:41

I love Heligan. If its cheaper than EP I'd pick there first, any day.

Or invest in a NT card as there are so many NT places here in Cornwall.

whirlygaily · 08/04/2022 21:53

Love Heligan but Eden has definitely changed for the better in the last couple of years even despite having to close for most of it. I notice the difference and we're there all the time for various reasons.

The extra walkways in the tropical biome have been added and the med cafe setting is lovely. It changes continually and the wider grounds and new trails are also great.

For discounts, Tesco is your best bet unless you take out family membership and intend going back. I love it most at Christmas- it's magical.

leavingtime · 08/04/2022 22:13

Save money by not going there. There are other better places to go as mentioned above.

When I went there is was expensive, grubby restaurant, littered and I've seen better plants in a garden centre. It's a money making machine.

I will complain if something seems overpriced thanks.

It would cost half as much to get into Kew Gardens & I've driven for 5 hrs to get here. I'm just not clear what is going to be so amazing about it.

Who knows, they might attract more visitors if they weren't overpriced 🤷🏻‍♀️
