Manchester City centre Parking

LuckyDipsy · 08/04/2022 11:03

I'm staying at a hotel in Manchester near Spittlefields on a Saturday night. Would need more than 24 hours parking.

Any recommendations please for city centre parking or for a park and ride?

Thanks

en.parkopedia.co.uk/ is what you need.

Do you mean spinningfields? Because spitalfields is in London?

emmathedilemma · 08/04/2022 11:37

Assuming you do mean Spinningfields then this one is close and easy to get into off the ring road www.ncp.co.uk/find-a-car-park/car-parks/salford-new-bailey/

Some of the metrolink stops have park and ride where overnight is allowed, Stretford is probably best depending on where you are coming from

LuckyDipsy · 08/04/2022 12:12

Thank you and yes I do mean Spinningfields - it's been a long week Smile

JustPark is a good app too. You can prebook some spaces.

MikeWozniaksMohawk · 08/04/2022 12:21

Which direction are you coming from? There’s lots of P&R places on the outskirts of the metro link network, and you would then just need to get to either St Peter’s Square or Deansgate/Castlefield.

I’d personally park on the street for free in lower broughton unless you have a very flash car it’ll be fine and only a short walk.

In that case - navigation road or Brooklands park and ride are your best options for that
Timperleybell · 08/04/2022 14:30

Brooklands has a handful of spaces, Navigation Rd is medium sized but there is also some unrestricted on street parking around, the Deansgate Lane side is better although it can get pretty congested.
As an alternative East Didsbury has a large car park and is fairly accessible via M56 and A34.
I'm not fully up to date but there was only overnight parking at metro P&R on Fri/Sat and IIRC a fairly early removal time on Sat I don't know how much it was ever policed though.

That would be “very flash car” as in “one with all four wheels”, then?
madnessitellyou · 08/04/2022 14:50

I wouldn't park in Lower Broughton. I used to live in Lower Broughton and my insurance was ££££ more as a consequence...

Be careful with park and ride - some of them say (or at least they did) that you can't leave cars overnight beyond a certain time (noon?). I find the Q Parks reasonable value and they feel quite secure.

iklboo · 08/04/2022 15:43

Lower Broughton is about half an hour's walk to Spinningfields. I wouldn't leave a roller skate round there never mind a car (and I used to live there).
