Hi all,

I want to buy my nephew a board game that he can play from childhood to an adult.

Could you please give me suggestions for any that you would recommend?TIA

Our family love board games and there are so many great ones these days - but sounds like you want to get him something special like a beautiful chess set which can be played and admired.

One thing my daughter loved from very little but is also loved by adults was 3D 4 in a line with marbles. As someone suggested there are also themed monopoly sets. Backgammon also bridges all generations and you can also have a special set that you'd want to keep.

Mancala. We played this game in the USA and it traverses all generations and abilities. Depending on your partner though. My son could beat me no problem since he was about 6Confused It's good for fine motor skills though and fun if your not too competitiveSmile

Kohaku would be perfect - it's a simple tile placing game about fish in a pond, scoring points on what fish you place where. Visually it's just beautiful, and the tiles are chunky acrylic so although a 3 year old probably couldn't play as per the rules, I'm sure they would love the pieces and giving it a go until they reach adulthood!

Outfoxed is good, although probably wouldn't last a lifetime.
