I am spending around £700 as a gift to someone very, very special.

I have no idea about whether the best quality would be a canvas or a glicee paper, whatever that is! Can anyone advise?

I’m not sure what you mean by the best quality? A canvas is likely to be a one off whereas a giclee print is a reproduction of a an original work so there can be multiple copies of it. Why not let the recipient chose from a selection at your chosen price point?

Just looked at the artist website and realised that the canvas isn’t an original it’s just a print on canvas. I’d go for the giclee print myself but that’s because I’d rather acknowledge that it’s a reproduction rather than have the canvas which pretends too be ‘original’. I don’t know the potential longevity of the canvas print n terms of fading etc. A properly framed giclee would probably last longer and stay fresher as it’s protected under glass and framed. It’s a matter of personal taste st the end of the day.
