Temporary crown - gluing back?

I have a temp crown after having a root canal. It fell out yesterday (3 weeks after being put in) but my appt for my perm crown is another 6 weeks away - no way to move it earlier apparently.

The temp crown slots back in nicely and is mostly held in place by the teeth around it. Can I just buy dental glue and keep it in for 6 weeks or does that risk infection? Do I need to get to the dentist to do to with proper cement stuff? Getting to dentist is a bit tricky with young children.

Thanks

I'd ring them and ask but it's very important that the temporary is in correctly or the teeth may move and then the new crown won't fit.

Most chemist sell dental glue for crowns etc. I think there's one called 'Toofy Pegs.' They usually come with a little capsule of powder that you mix with water, then apply to the crown and place it back in. It's a bit fiddly at first but gets easier. I never got an infection while having to use dental glue/cement.

I went through a phase where my crown fell out all the time (on a first date 🙈, while taking the register in my class, eating a sandwich, to name but a few) it was at the front as well - nightmare) but got it properly sorted and a new one made. Not fell out since!

Thank you. I called them yesterday to ask but the receptionist didn't seem to know Hmm
