Which City Break?

Looking for a city break (not in the UK) for a short break with 2 teens with a set of specific requirements.

  1. Must be accessible by train from London.
  2. Must be Northern Europe as Autistic Teen can't tolerate summer heat.
  3. Must not been Paris, been there done that!

Would be grateful for recommendations and the reasons you love it!

Thanks in advance!

Copenhagen because it’s got something for everyone, it’s very accessible and because of Tivoli!

Sorry, not sure if Copenhagen is accessible by train. If not, then Amsterdam for similar reasons

Amsterdam is super easy to get to on the train and is easy to get around once your there. I had a very pleasant weekend there - I went in winter and it was lovely just to wander around as the windows in all the old houses lit up, did a canal tour (there were lots of lovely light installations), ate lots of pancakes and visited the tulip markets. And of course there’s the Anne Frank house. Can’t speak to what there is specifically for teenagers but it’s a big city so sure there’s plenty.

My OH visited Bruges before we met and says it’s a lovely city to wander around in foot - I’m sure you can get there pretty easily from London.

Brussels has a great water park, city Center interesting

Easy to get a train to Antwerp, which is an overlooked city I’ve visited a couple of times

Arnhem is a great place to visit

They have a magnificent open air museum, really well set out. Along with a fabulous Second World War museum

Once you’re into Europe getting around by train is much easier, so catching the train from Brussels to Arnhem should be easy
