Things to do with preschool ds

There is loads of baby and toddler groups near me, but the oldest children there are usually around 2/2.5. DS is 3 and with him being a September baby, I have an extra year before he goes to school.
What does everyone do with their preschoolers?
We go for walks, to the play gym, but u just can't find any activities aimed at those who have outgrown the baby and toddler stage. Plus it would be nice to find us both some new friends as I'm only part time working, and ds is only part tike at nursery

Maybe something a bit more structured like baby swimming/mini athletics/rugby tots will have some older preschoolers?

My local sports centre used to do loads of different activities/classes for pre schoolers, which were age based.
Story time at the library.
At this time of year, Easter egg hunts. Our garden centre does them every year. Similar things at Halloween and Christmas.
Take him for a ride on the bus or train, if he doesn't regularly use public transport.
Trip to the local petting zoo or farm.
Go to a pick your own fruit place on the summer.
Visit an ice cream cafe.
Go swimming just for fun, if you don't want to do classes.

Mine were at nursery 3 days per week as I was working part time too, the other two days we just kind of did low key things locally like an afternoon at the swimming pool, meeting friends/family for coffee, wandering around in the park - the 3 nursery days were hectic early starts to get everyone ready before my husband dropped them off on the way to work so we all needed a bit of down time!

A bit of a tricky age for classes you are right, at that age it becomes more for the child eg. Swimming/dance/other sports lessons as opposed to baby classes which are equally for the mums to make friends! Just wait a year and you'll make loads of new friends when he starts school :)

Ooh some good suggestionsSmile
I just feel like we have fallen into a boring routine of the same couple of things each week.
