DS already on school holidays this week and it’s completely crap. I was hoping to potter and play in the garden and just chill a bit.

Meant to be going somewhere in Europe next week (assuming we can get through airport/flight isn’t cancelled) and the weather there looks depressing too Sad

North/west Europe makes me sad. Obvs in the grand scheme of things I am lucky, just feel like there’s a metaphorical as well as a physical cloud over us all atm.

I'm so fed up of being constantly cold. And damp! No matter what I wear I always end up damp. I'm so fed up of it now and I'm hoping for at least a few nice weeks before it starts all over again.

Where are you @jupitermars1345 because although it has been cool it has been dry generally for the last month and about 7-10 days ago we had balmy weather for the time of year. I am in the Midlands.

It was no different last year, but once we got into April and early May it remained dry and very cool. Cool and dry is insipid actually.

Today is the first day of rain in a long while.

See, i like it. Its what I’m used to. Doesn’t stop me from going out, walking, running.

If I waited for fair weather, I could wait for a very long time.

I'm used to it, doesn't mean I like it though!

Constant noisy windscreen wipers on the car, having to lug a coat everywhere and getting sweaty. Plus, my dogs can be awkward about going out when it's wet and/or windy, which makes their morning walk that bit more frustrating. Our morning walk on a good day is a nice, gentle bit of waking up and thinking time.

I'm sick of it. Was really hoping for a warm spring as last weekend was gorgeous and I went out in a dress and bare legs!!!

Its a 'back winter', doesn't mean spring won't be warm, its just gone back to winter for a moment. Have hope for that warm spring still!

MrsDThomas · 07/04/2022 07:17

Those wipers can easily be remedied by going to Halfords! One less thing to annoy you!

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 07/04/2022 07:25

It happens every year but I think we try and forget about it due to how horrible it is Grin

Like a PP upthread m, I'm also a dog walker and I always forget how spectacularly awful it can be at this time of year. It's worse than winter in a way as it's just a bit too warm for layers of waterproofs so you just end up sweaty, flustered, windswept and damp Grin

I was sitting in the garden a couple of weeks ago 😎 - even got a bit of sunburn on my nose!
I'm loathed to put the heating on - feel like I can hear the meter ticking ⏲.

Is this a thing that can fixed then? Mine are soooo loud!
