Its just everything, the news ,the war, energy costs, food and petrol prices, covid still here, and the weather is so shite. And i have health anxiety and worry about every little thing.

Im just fed up.

If you are in Glasgow why don’t you spend a rainy day at the Burrell collection, It’s just reopened and it supposed to be very impressive.

I know what you mean about the news the way the Russian army has been treating the Ukrainian people is just so upsetting, can’t believe they can treat there neighbours like this. It’s just so depressing, I’m trying only to watch once a day , but feel I have as it’s disrespectful to the dead to ignore what has happened.

This decade is turning out to be a real cluster f**k.

Oh the Burrell is a good shout

@ssd

I think I'll go for a swim tomorrow and buy myself some daffodils. And keep the news off.
Keeping the news off will do you so much good.

Btw you posted yesterday about London weather...it's been raining heavily here today.

RMS0209 · 06/04/2022 23:20

How are you?
Just checking in Thanks

carefullycourageous · 07/04/2022 07:49

@LadyCatStark

Me too, I honestly wish I wasn’t here anymore. My dog likes walking in the wind and rain, so I have to do it but it’s grim. And in the words of Nikki Grahame RIP, “I’m sooooo coldddd” no chance of having the heating on though.
I'm sorry you feel like this, that you wish you were not here anymore Brew

@carefullycourageous thank you 🥰. Yesterday we got the terrible news that a year 10 boy at DS’s school has killed himself which made me sharply aware that I need to make sure I’m not projecting my feelings around DS. I have made a drs appt to increase my anti depressants so hopefully that will help.

@ssd everything feels a little bit better when the sun is out doesn’t it?

Perfectlystill · 08/04/2022 18:55

OP do you like jigsaws? I find doing them quite therapeutic.

Pets? I have a small dog and grabbing her for a short cuddle (all she will allow) makes me happy.

Also swimming, as you say.

I hope you feel better soon. Summer is coming.

Good luck at the docs.

Take good care of your ds, suicide especially when the very young, is just so shocking and sad.

OP I do agree that a media detox is needed. I have the odd 24 or 48 hours break from news and it does me the power of good. Nature alleviates stress too and is very good for the soul.

You are not alone and I have no financial worries but the world is a shit place atm.
Cheer up, avoid the news and and TV in general and concentrate on the things you enjoy.
If TV espouses our societal values we are a bunch of trite, hypocritical, celebrity-valuing nut jobs !

ssd · 21/04/2022 16:11

Yes the tv can be awful. Im trying to avoid the news. I like watching Michael portillo on his train journeys. And ben fogle too. I don't watch reality stuff or dramas. There's enough drama in real life.
