Best seats/level inside the Globe Theatre?

I am veering towards the back row (middle ) as I have heard that you can rest against the wall ( unlike the other seats!) I have not been for years. If you have been more recently, where did you choose to sit? Thanks in advance.

Exactly there. it worked well

Soffit · 05/04/2022 18:47

So it must be true!! Thanks so much Smile

We stood, then moved into the best unoccupied seats as soon as it started

megletthesecond · 05/04/2022 18:48

We're booked for back row middle next week. My hunch is that they're pretty decent seats. I don't want to perch or have anyone behind me.

Soffit · 06/04/2022 09:58

I don't really want anyone coughing behind me either!

Stand right by the stage for the best view.
If you're in the Sam Wannamaker, the standing seats have a restricted view so you want to be right in the middle looking at the stage.

Soffit · 06/04/2022 10:06

I have seen the Yard standing area. I don't really want to stand for 2 hours though!

Wear warm clothes and bring a blanket. It can be v cold wherever you sit!

Hbh17 · 06/04/2022 10:07

Back row middle are my favourite seats too - you can rest your back.

Yard standing is great! It was a very long stand for Hamlet though 🤣
JustJam4Tea · 06/04/2022 10:09

Take a cushion and warm clothes.

Soffit · 06/04/2022 10:10

Thanks. If it rains then are we likely to get less wet if we are sitting right at the back? I suppose that we could put up a small umbrella? I feat that I am not really cut out for this type of theatre experience in April Hmm

Umbrellas are a definite no. I have fond memories of buying a lot of globe ponchos on a school trip once. We were dripping by the end.

Soffit · 06/04/2022 10:12

If not, then I have some hideous fisherman's ponchos which were purchased for a visit to the Edinburgh Tattoo. I never thought we would use them again!

Do they have a very strict refunds policy?

OP posts:
MrsHamlet · 06/04/2022 10:21

Take the ponchos!
Not sure about refunds. I'm a hell or high water visitor.... no, year 12, we are not going to sack it off. It's only rain.

Mumdiva99 · 06/04/2022 10:24

I've never been but have nought standing tickets for Much Ado later this year. My plan is to take a couple of my kids, will they have trouble seeing if short?

That's the spirit! I remember going in Year 12 but I didn't notice the cold or discomfort back then Sad

Does anyone know if under 18’s can go in alone without purchasing an adult ticket alongside? DS11 is desperate to see Macbeth but only one ticket left!

I tried that one but the transaction would not go through online. It would work if you paid for an adult ticket for an older teenager, I suppose.

Elbows! People will generally shift up to make space for short ones.

No idea but this makes me glad :)

The Box Office said that they usually get returns for resale for the Good Friday performances so I would check back in the evening.

Andariego · 06/04/2022 10:42

@MrsHamlet me too Smile

@Soffit thanks, I’ll check back again later on and see if more tickets are available. If not I might buy a cheaper standing area ticket for me and the seat for him, then go and sit in a nearby cafe (I’m heavily pregnant, no chance I’m going to be able to stand for that long!)

There are two seats together showing for the Good Friday performance if you were after that date...
