Can I remove my floppy mole using a skin tag remover?

I have mole on my back that is very slowly getting larger and floppier. I have had it checked out and it is fine tho GP did mention it would continue to grow. It is basically like a skin tag, albeit a large one. So could I remove it using a skin tag remover, the ones that starve the tag of blood so it eventually drops off? I can't afford to get it removed by a doctor, that would be thousands Shock It catches on my bra strap and is ugly so would like it gone.

Can any of you post the kits you used? I bought a pen with a needle on the end but all that's doing is making the skin tags bleed, i'm too much of a wuss to use nail clippers but i have some that i need gone, rubbing on the underarm of the bra.

I have a floppy mole between my boobs that DD likes to fiddle with while feeding. It makes me feel nauseous.

Doctor won't remove it because it isn't cancerous.

I might try a skin tag remover kit.

A local beautician removed two skin tags and two moles for me 2 years ago at a price of approx £130 I think. She is trained in Harley St but where she works her overheads are low and this is reflected in her pricing.

I cut it off with scissors. All good

I thought (as a very Moley person) that you were not meant to fiddle with them as it can start changes in them that lead to problems. I have had one cut out, and like a previous poster said, they have a root that needs removing too.

Oblomov22 · 04/04/2022 20:02

I need to look into this.

I agree with this. I'm not sure DIYing is a good idea when you're talking about something that can potentially turn cancerous and therefore needs a professional review before removal.

But there are many different types of "moles". Get them checked by all means, I have mine checked every year, but 99.9% of them are skin tags, or warts, or keratosis, all of which can be removed by various means.

They all look very different, and once checked over, you can easily identify which is what.

The Tagband skin tag remover kit has worked a treat for me and isn't very painful. That's on skin tags though. I don't know anything about moles.

I got it on Amazon.

Lightning020 · 05/04/2022 14:35

I had to take photos of my skin tags and moles for approval first by the beautician's doctor contact.

yellowsuninthesky · 05/04/2022 14:51

Have you checked other GPs in your area? They may do it privately and won't care that you are not registered with them.

Interestingly mine used to do private work regarding moles etc but it's not listed on their website anymore, so maybe something has changed and they're not allowed to.

They sign passport photos though - for £42!

I've accidentally shaved one off in my armpit.... bleed like hell, but quick and easy!

I used tagband because I couldn't get a piece of string tied around the fucker.

The Tagband works fine but it did hurt until the bastard mole died.

I had one removed from my face and it cost £500 and that was the least expensive I could find.

@Ossoduro2

Go to a different Gp about it. They should do it on the nhs if it’s catching on your bra strap.
They don't anymore.

I had one the size a pound coin on my back, right under the clasps, raised and constantly sore - obviously. Outright refused.

Same with the one of the front of my bra line, next to where the arm strap goes.

Did get them removed eventually, but not in this country.

HardStareBear · 05/04/2022 16:51

I removed a large skin tag with very sharp embroidery scissors. I froze it with Emla local anaesthetic cream first and made sure that everything was very clean. It bled a bit, but nothing that a plaster couldn't cope with.

It's crazy how different the prices seem to be. Are you down south?

JemimaTab · 05/04/2022 20:48

I had a large mole on my leg removed by a consultant dermatologist - it involved going under the skin to also dig out the “root” (otherwise it would have regrown). Cost £550 all in (£150 for initial consultation and £400 for the procedure) (in London). I self-referred as GP said the NHS wouldn’t cover it, even though it was quite tender and long enough to catch on my clothing.

whoruntheworldgirls · 05/04/2022 20:51

Thank you for the recommendations, i need the kit for skin tags

AuntieJoycesPurpleSlacks · 05/04/2022 20:55

"Floppy" moles...nail clippers....mole "tails" oh Jesus this thread is the stuff of nightmares!

MissMaple82 · 05/04/2022 22:09

Thars rubbish. Had mone removed last year on the NHS

carefullycourageous · 05/04/2022 22:15

@MissMaple82

I had mine surgically removed on the NHS because it was catching on my bra strap.
Yes I was offered this by the GP, the NHS will do it if it is causing a problem.

Also it wouldn't be thousands to get it removed.
