Disneyland Paris.. help with budget

jowly · 03/04/2022 19:43

We are thinking of offering to pay for our daughter and her family to go to Disneyland Paris. There would be 2 adults and 2 children.

Could anyone advise what this would cost.. obviously a rough cost in school holiday time.

I have googled and cannot really work out what they'd need in terms of passes etc. I don't even know how long they'd need to go for to make it worthwhile so any help would be great.

I think ideally train travel there might suit them better

Prices have soared and the deals for meals etc have all but gone.
If going summer time, I couldn't begin to say.
I worked it out for 2 adults and a child, between February and Easter, school holidays, and was working out at about 1100 a head for 5 nights, passes to each park and via Eurostar. And that didn't include meals.

In terms of time there, 2-3 full days should be plenty, maybe a day more if the kids are very small and tire easily.

If they're staying in an on-site Disney hotel then park passes are included for every day of their stay, including the day they arrive and leave.

I’ve just priced it up for the last week of August at £4k for a family of four to stay in Newport Bay, flying, and including half board (vouchers are redeemable in park or hotel). That’s one of the better hotels, you can do it for less than £3k then I would say.

We last went in 2019 and paid £2500 for a week in the Center Parcs and two days park passes. I’d say 3 days is a better minimum to spend in the parks but I’m really no expert.

Between £1800 - £2500 plus spending for on site hotels, travel and tickets. We do 5 days 4 nights.

Twinwife1018 · 03/04/2022 19:55

We went in feb half term, mon-Thursday.
We did Eurotunnel and drove and stayed in the Newport Bay hotel on site. We did the half board meal package. It’s was about £2k and then spending money on top for snacks/toys about £250 plus petrol. So nearly £2.5k all in.
2 adults and 2 children x

We did 4 nights stayed in one of the Disney hotels and had a full board dining package, plus Eurostar tickets this included all passes into the parks. Cost about £3000 for 2 adults and 2 children. Food is expensive so the dining package was well worth it.

For us in 2019, it averaged out to £600/day for 5 days with 2 adults, 2 kids. But this included extra tickets for NYE event. We did one character buffet dinner and one character buffet breakfast.

Have a look at Magic Breaks website, we've been a few times through them.

Op it's little wonder you can work it out it's deliberately designed to befuddle people.

How old are the DC?
Can I throw a left Field ball in as someone did to me years ago when I was asking about Disney Paris?

The Efteling theme park in Holland.
Fairy tales based beautiful and magical with a real large fairy tale wood at it's heart.
Look at accmd in bosrijk or loosncheland.

Very straight forward pricing.

Same ISH distance as Disney Paris.

We've done both now, each one has its merits and we will definitely return to Disney one day but as a whole experience, magical and relaxing for all efteling wins hand's down.

Weee a family of 4 , 2 adults and 2 children 7,3
were going to Disney for 3 days 2 nights getting the euro tunnel staying in the a disney hotel. Half board for food around the parks and our tickets it’s £1425. This is start of October . Hope this helps . We booked through walt Disney travel company who have been great

MrsTerryPratchett · 16/07/2022 01:41

What we did was 3 days/nights at the park in a Disney hotel (for the early start) then two days/nights in Paris with my parents so they could eat croissants and go to the Louvre with DD (DGC). It was lovely and they got to be a part of the Disney joy without having to actually go to Disney!

stayathomer · 16/07/2022 01:50

There are one or two of the hotels that are more budget than the others but still nice, but we’ve also done the train to Paris for accommodation too. My big warning is food, cheapest way to eat is McDonald’s and from the supermarket, Disney prices are mind boggling for food- a tiny bottle of Fanta, about half the size of a can was €3.75 and six of us for dinner at the very sun standard planet Hollywood was €180. Disgraceful!

Amandasummers · 16/07/2022 06:04

Can't help with Costs because you really can spend loads, maybe give more derails of what you want to cover how long erx?

Bit of advice though, have a look at the Disney land Paris French and German sites etc as it can work out cheaper for same package. I would also always book through disneylandparis site, its rare but it normally is the cheapest! I'd go for one of the more basic hotels, cheyenne or sequoia, I personally think they're nicer than the main ones! If your paying for the trip I guess you should cover food but I personally think money towards where they want to eat is better than half board etc if kids are young they might be happier eith McDonald's- we were!!! I have a lot of knowledge but need more details. Feel free to pm me x

We went years ago by Eurostar for three days and it was very expensive but ...

I paid for fast track tickets so my DS got on each ride quickly.

It was better value to go to the restaurant that served proper meals at dinner time rather than all the themed stuff. Still expensive but much better quality and quantity.

In our hotel you could buy a hot breakfast like an omelette for an extra 2Euro which meant my DS was okay with just a banana until an early lunch.

It is expensive but it was one of the best holidays. I have never laughed so much!
