Things to do in Birmingham with older DCs

I may have a day or two in Birmingham with the kids soon. I am thinking of taking them to the Bear Grylls place as we have a voucher, and perhaps also the Sea Life.

Can anyone recommend anything else? DCs are 11 and 14

They have an Everyman Cinema there, which is a completely different cinema experience - individual sofas/tables and food and drink served to you.

Cadbury’s world?

We like the library too.

Sealife is pretty dull tbh, expensive for what it is, and last time we were in and out in an hour. Lego discovery is nearby, havnt been myself but have heard good things.

If you want a zoo the Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park is really good value (£7.50 adult, £3.75 children) and has some unusual animals - the red pandas and komodo dragon and my faves. It's also next to cannon hill park so plenty else to do nearby.

I also love a wander round Digbeth - the custard factory and surrounding area has interesting shops and restaurants and lots of cool graffiti. There's also a big fun fair. Also close to millennium point which has the think tank museum - good for a few hours with lots of interactive displays and planetarium. There's also a good science garden there which is free to enter from 3pm.

Custard factory?? Off to check this out.

If you're going to the Conservation Park mentioned above (which is amazing) next to that is MAC Birmingham and at half term they always have interesting shows/workshops on, DD has done Lego, animation, dance and coding.

Custard factory?? Off to check this out.
Sadly, they don't still make custard but it is a nice area of the city. In fact fancy a wander down there myself now. Perhaps next week with DD

Ah ok
I quite fancied a custard factory tour.

If the weather is nice, definitely have a wander round Digbeth. If they like taking photographs, there's loads of street art.

Wouldn't bother with Sea Life centre, unless it's something you know they'd enjoy.

Check out if there's anything on at the Electric cinema - a fantastic, old cinema that's recently re-opened.

Go to the roof garden on the top of the library and then have a mooch by the canal.

Dishoom for breakfast.

Thank you for the tips and the heads up about Sealife. DD does like all things aquatic but we've been to the London one a few times so if it doesn't have anything new to offer we'll skip it. The conservation park and the think tank sound great. The cinemas will be good for evening options too

I'll have to look up Dishoom.

Thank you very much.

Crossposted on the kayaking. We do kayak at home. Could be great for the urban environment
