Here's the little shit darling.

In a nutshell. She - very, very fussy eater. Also has HCM so needs to keep her weight up really. Indoor cat, almost 13 now.

Me - typically anxious to please, goes to nth degree to try all kinds of foods on her and managed to find ONE she'll eat for more than a month. Sheba perfect portions tuna in gravy. Which is quite expensive, of course. Obviously, none of the Sheba perfect portions flavours are acceptable.

But I can't get it at the moment and had to order some from Ebay and it's yet to arrive. So I have a cupboard full of just about every bloody other brand and type of similar/different but not too different/very different/same and or different flavour of cat food I could find. Tins, pouches, pots, sachets.......
She will eat the dry food which vet has told me to keep to a minumum as it tends to constipate her and then she won't eat....

I've even cooked fresh chicken breasts. Nope, she does the cautious approach, mildy interested sniff and circle, gaze into the mid distance, tiny nibble and wander off thing.

AAAaarrgghhhh!!!!

Does anyone want a cat? Or me?

Based on the 12th century verses of Lu You, Chinese poet, charting his life with a cat.
www.openculture.com/2020/09/in-1183-a-chinese-poet-describes-being-domesticated-by-his-own-cats.html

The full horror is seen if you compare just the first and last poems

Cat Poem 1
To guard all my books from rats I got a kitty
and a bag of salt to line along each shelf.
But we are so poor, it's such a pity
that kitty has no mat, no fish, no joys herself.

To Princess Pinknose
You used to massacre rats every night
and guard the grain-bins so ferociously.
Now, the way you go on, you just as well might
be living in a palace, so precociously
expecting fish every day and hogging my bed every night.

Did you serve the fresh chicken with gravy?

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/04/2022 23:05

@tedgran I don’t doubt it but it’s the air of “well I’ll just go and die then you’ll be sorry”

I do the food in random places too, worked with the departed Bengal but moggy girl now refuses all food not served on a 13 tog duvet. She’ll sit and look at it sadly.

DCat. On the basis my DDog has won this more than once in his life! Give that fluffy little one a pet from me ☺️

I was going to bet my soul on kitty winning, seems I was right. Been there, done that, still doing it. Our cupboards are full of different brands that she refuses to eat. Cat eats on the bed, on our laps, has the bowl held and twisted around so she doesn't have to move. Hand fed at times. She is very ill tbf but I am sure she is testing to see how far she can push us.

Have you tried cooking whitefish? Its warm, its smelly and its moist. And it can be hand fed in chunks Blush

When we rescued our old lady she was so skinny, you could see her bones ..... and she was still fussy.
