Sick kid. Odd collection of symptoms.

So, we are due to go on holiday tomorrow, so of course one of the kids is now sick.

Came on suddenly at bed time. Complained of sore tummy, was sore when i pressed around her belly button, been sick, then said dizzy and numb arms. No temp.

She had covid about 2 months ago, so doubting it is that. And she wouldn't let me do a test.

I know noro is doing the rounds. Does that usually come with dizziness and numb arms and legs?

My worry is, she is a war horse. She just keeps going without complaining until she is so ill she has to stop. She is usually not very good at vocalising when her body doesn't feel quite right. So if she is saying she feels these things then i suspect she is quite poorly. My spidey senses arent liking this.

My DD had horrible sickness, tummy ache and a rash. Tested negative for Covid…and then positive three days later.

Hope your child is better soon.

How old is she? Does she have a temperature? Has she been eating and drinking?
Does sound like tummy bug type thing, but could be many other things. Could get worse, could dissappear overnight. Ill kids are so tricky!

She had covid at the last half term. One dose of calpol and it bounced straight off her. There have been a few covid cases in her class this week, and she has had some odd stuff going on since she had it.

Episodes of extreme ankle and knee joint pain, really bad ear infection. Her test never did go negative even after 10 days.

Hmmm. Anyways, don't think we will be going anywhere tomorrow

She is 6, no temp, eating & drinking normally, but probably a bit more chocolate than usual.

Numb arms is an unusual symptom. I think you need to call 111.

tiredanddangerous · 01/04/2022 21:04

I agree that you need proper medical advice. The numbness is unusual.

Lovebroccoli · 01/04/2022 21:09

You should definitely ring 111 and get a proper opinion. Numbness isn't usually a symptom of childhood illnesses.
