Anyone excited for the Easter holidays?

My children (Year 2 and Reception) are exhausted. Getting DC2 out of the house in the morning is harder every passing day. DC1 has had an amazing term, but is absolutely wrecked. I am FED UP of sorting homework, reading, uniform and activities as well as working. And this holiday isn't so ridiculously long that we'll all end up sick of each other. Bring It On.

No! Two weeks at home with a baby and a 6 year old, plus a few days abroad thrown in.

Oh and kids on school holidays combined with dh WFH just reminds me too much of lockdown! Shudder! Quite honestly, I love packing them off to the office and school!

DailyMailHater · 31/03/2022 22:25

I wish…can’t get hardly anytime off work due to project deadlines, price of holiday clubs is shocking and we just don’t have the spare income at the moment, so trying to balance it all os a nightmare especially as DH is self employed meaning if he helps with childcare he is isn’t earning

Really looking forward to it! We’re going to Yorkshire for 5 days and the dc are old enough to not need constant entertaining anymore. Will enjoy the slower mornings and activity free afternoons.

DialsMavis · 31/03/2022 22:38

Yep, ours is starting early as we off to Australia to see family on Saturday Smile. Not been abroad since 2018 and not seen my poorly Dad since 2019 so we are over the moon. We just need to pass the bloody covid tests now

I’m in the US and even I’m looking forward to it. We normally only get the Friday off but our school district has given us the Monday as well this year unexpectedly so it feels like a proper Easter weekend. We’re off to Dallas.

AnneButNotHathaway · 01/04/2022 09:28

I'm working so no excitement whatsoever Grin. Though I'll be making smartshow 3d Easter videos for the younger kids as they love them. It's always their excitement that cheers me up the most.

SartresSoul · 01/04/2022 09:31

I’ve got a few things planned that I’m looking forward to, just hope the weather picks up a bit for it because most is outdoors Grin.

We're going to Florida (booked 2.5 years ago, delayed a year) so I'm positively giddy 😁😁😁😁😁

Nicpem1982 · 01/04/2022 09:38

Looking forward to it here! My dd is exhausted and ready for a slower pace. We've got lots of things planned and we've got some time off work together. Me and Dh have managed to squeeze in a childfree night in a hotel too thanks to Mil. So yes very excited here

35andThriving · 02/04/2022 21:21

Yes, I love school holidays! Smile Smile Smile

LadyCordeliaFitzgerald · 02/04/2022 21:28

I used to live for the holidays and have all sorts of plans up my sleeve. But the lockdowns broke me. Last year I was having flashbacks through midterm.

Thanks for the thread op because it’s reminded me if a time when I enjoyed it and I’d really like to find my mojo again.

BakewellGin1 · 02/04/2022 21:35

Absolutely.. I work term time so am off when the DC are.
We are always so busy it's nice to take a step back and actually enjoy them.
Plenty of trips or activities booked in as well as a few lazy mornings. Can't wait.
