My dc is 8 and I'm really enjoying them. I did not like the baby years at all though. Wondering what's to come but enjoying everything now too.

I suspect those who love the baby and toddler stage have very large rose tinted glasses
This can be the case for sure, but so can the opposite. We all have selective memories to some degree.
A younger relative of mine has a toddler and is pregnant currently and DH and I were having the "Ooh, rather them than us." conversation recently. But I realised we were kind if reverse cherry picking memories. Whilst it was without doubt hard as all our children were firmly of the belief that sleep is an optional extra for years, we had lots of great times too and day to day life was stressful but also quite fun. When I see my relative's little one it does remind me how interesting and enjoyable seeing a child learning, growing, developing individuality etc can be. I'd kind of forgotten that, but I do remember vividly how tough being woken at 2 hourly intervals and then being on call at work for the next 24 hours was so probably give a more negative view.
I wouldn't want to do it again, and I really don't understand why so many grandparents seem to clamour to have babies/toddlers sleeping over - surely the best part of grandparenting is getting to give them back for that bit - but I'm glad I did it and there were lots and lots of nice things about it really.

@Comedycook

Those of you who enjoy the toddler years, you must be made of stronger stuff than me! When I see mums out and about with toddlers, all I think is thank god that's not me anymore!
Noo! I just want to be me again when mine were that age, when I see mums with toddlers. The only bit of grandmotherhood I'm looking forward to is having toddlers around again.

I did find babies boring, and teenagers tedious. Primary age was a bit 'meh' (though obviously I love all my children dearly all the time!)

Newborn - thirteen.

I love 3-4 year olds, that preschool year. They are so cute and funny, with innocence but their own little personality really coming through

It's impossible to say. They all have their good and bad points and it's hard to remember. As they grow one age blends into another.

Hated baby years.
Loved Toddler years . It was like living with sassy wobbly little people who never listened.
Favourite years were teenage years.

It was like living with sassy wobbly little people who never listened

Which is exactly why I didn't like it Grin

Reading through all of these. Maybe getting a teeny bit nostalgic for the absolute newborn stage but I know I would rather not be there right now!
Some lovely stories
