Slippers on the sofa?

Do you wear/allow slippers or indoor shoes to be worn on the sofa? We didn't but now the puppy steals them to play with if you leave them on the floor. So I'm a reluctant wearer.

It seems a bit daft to have indoor shoes that aren't allowed everywhere indoors

We both wear slippers and yes, they're allowed on the sofa.

But we also have a dog and cats and they all go on the furniture and in the bed so I'm sure we're generally considered disgusting by MN standards

as I said, you do what works for YOUR household…

Well if course everyone should do what works for their household but surly you see why having indoor slippers which then can't be worn in certain parts of the house seems rather pointless.

I wear the same shoes all day, indoors and out, and happily put my feet on the sofa. It does have a washable throw on it though.

@Beees slippers/sliders are meant for your feet and your feet usually stay on the floor. There’s nothing pointless about not being able to put your slippers/sliders on furniture when you can simply….wait for it…..take them off….

I wouldn’t wear my sliders on my sofa, my bed or my rug. I’m black. I tend to realise black and non black people have different views of cleanliness. Maybe that can answer your question🤷‍♀️

No one in my house wears slippers!
Shoes usually come off at the front door but there’s no house rule about it, we’re just more comfortable with them off. I often run in and out with them on, dh often comes trampling through in his work boots, all hard floors downstairs for a reason. I’d not put shoes on the sofa but I don’t see why slippers would be a problem

I don’t wear slippers on the sofa because they have hard soles so it’s not comfy. And the soles are a bit dirtier than socks even though they’ve only been worn indoors… I wash my socks every day. I never wash the soles of my slippers…. Maybe I should?!

Well I think my house is generally pretty clean. The floors don’t have shoes on from outside, and are hoovered and mopped regularly. So there’s not enough ‘filth’ to go on my sofa from my slippers to be concerned.
