@iCod

Penis Baker might have been funny to outsiders but I’d suggest that to us oldies it was a bit try hard, am I right?
You're always right and never more so with that! Beginning of the bloody end is what it was.
isthismylifenow · 28/03/2022 20:42

I still have my scarf too....

I flew under the radar and re-registered so many times I can't even remember my first username. Moved countries twice. I also have a 19 year old and everyone probably ignored me because I used to harp on about cloth nappies... 😂

Fgs I used to have dial up internet in those days. And my mil used to bitch and moan as when she tried to phone her darling boy of an evening, the line was always engaged. So of course I had to be online every single night....... 😃

I no longer have dial up internet nor a mil to worry about.

iklboo · 28/03/2022 21:48

Our DS is 17 in November! I'll get me gimmer zimmer.

OverByYer · 29/03/2022 00:48

My boys are 19 and 21, joined in c2004.

And Secret Santa

HarrietSchulenberg · 29/03/2022 00:58

Gosh, Cod was here before me and I've been here forever (well, a long time). I remember a Rhubarb, a Custard who I think became Custardo, Beetroot, who had a field and held a MN camping party, and Zebra who once insisted she dressed her kids for school before they went to bed to save time in the morning.

I am sure it was Cod who said boys are like dogs - if you don't exercise them daily you can't do anything with them, and she was bloody well right (I have 3).

That must have been very nearly 20 years ago! I had a different name then, something to do with hair as I was in the middle of a bad home-highlighting incident when I joined.

Pawtriarchal · 29/03/2022 01:03

Oh you’re back, that’s a relief, I’ve been waiting to potty train my son and he’s nine now.

OpheliaThrupps · 29/03/2022 01:11

May the piece of Cod that passeth all understanding be with us, and remain with us always. Amen

TosstTastic · 29/03/2022 09:44

All these years on, do you think Mumsnet made you a better parent?

It certainly kept me sane and got me through the po-faced stay & play groups I endured for the kids 'development'.

I do remember mentally dividing new mum friends into MN or NetHuns.

TabithaTittlemouse · 29/03/2022 09:53

@OverByYer I remember you as 60ftdoll!

Imaysnapandfart · 29/03/2022 09:56

Oh gosh, Chaos's toaster thread. That was MN gold.

ToooOldForThis · 29/03/2022 10:27

I agreed firmly with the "children are like dogs" and was so taken aback by all the people who didn't!

@TosstTastic I think it certainly did. And it was hard to find RL people on the same wavelength when kids were wee

Of course - dogs are way more important!!

ToooOldForThis · 29/03/2022 10:36

I sway between which group I prefer, depending on what any of them have done to piss me off that dayGrin

Bit it did and does still seem like common sense just to feed them then run them till they're tired!

I hated the superiority around netmums v mumsnet. I'd forgotten all that.
BIWI · 29/03/2022 12:34

Is @BoysAreLikeDogs still around? I liked her posts.

Juniper68 · 29/03/2022 12:54

Did anyone go to the London meet up when mhaimi was climbing the walls?
