The hunt for an Easyjet-compatible car seat...

I'm looking for an infant car seat that fits Easyjet's requirements for use in-plane of a max width of 42cm! I can find a very budget one (Joie Juva), but can't find any safety test info for it, and as it'd also be the seat we then used in-car at our destination I'm keen to have something well tested / rated. The low price point (£40) doesn't inspire massive confidence without any safety test data to back it up, and I can't find any test reports that include it :(

Has anyone flown easyjet with a car seat before? If so, help! I know just having baby on my lap is an option, but if I can do the safer thing and put them in a seat, that's definitely my preference.

I thought you could only use forward facing seats so that would rule out an infant carrier

Iirc you still have to hold them for take off and landing. It needs to secure with a lap belt and I'm not aware baby-seats can.

How are you going to buckle it in?

It can only be forward facing and be able to be secured with a lap belt. That rules out an infant carrier

Put the car seat in the hold and carry your baby on your lap

And to be brutally honest, if your plane goes down, a car seat isn't going to save your baby. Does your baby have its own seat?

You said what everyone was thinking!

Save yourself the price of the seat too OP.

Unless you’re flying a very long way, which i doubt with Easyjet I honestly would put the car seat in the hold and put baby on lap
If not you’ll have to buy an extra seat.

Flew on Easyjet with mine as babies and although not the most relaxing journey ever, was broadly fine. Was worst when they were about 18 months old and wanted to run up and down the aisles- car seat would not have helped that. As babies it was relatively easy and with car seat in hold and baby in sling it’s fairly straightforward.

Have a lovely holiday!

Just breastfeed/give them a bottle on take off and landing to avoid ear canal pressure issues and you'll be grand Smile
