Sprained shoulder

I have sprained my right shoulder (through stupidity - I was lifting boxes in a hurry and a couple were too heavy for me).

Have any of you had this? I’m taking ibuprofen and putting frozen peas on it but it’s been a week and still awful. I woke up in agony last night at 2am (lying down is the worst, doesn’t matter what position). Ended up coming downstairs and sleeping in a chair.

Do you know how long it will last? I’ve done the terrible thing that is googling my symptoms (the horror!) and I just need to know that this won’t last weeks and weeks. Even sitting on a bus really hurts.

Sorry to moan.

Ah, you too? Sorry to hear that.

It is much better now (but not perfect). I found an osteopath.

I'm just over 2 months in with mine. I went over the handlebars of my bike and was just relieved that I didn't break my collar bone like many I know have (high speed mountain bike crash).

Still hurts if I lift my arm above my shoulder, I can only lay on the other side in bed and I still have swelling on my thigh due to landing on a rock.

I've got tendinitis in my shoulder and upper arm. Three months in and still painful, despite physiotherapy.
Didn't help that I recently fell, and tore my bicep during the process.
I have given up with painkillers and am just wincing and trying not to cry.

Snap! I started swimming last week - I've found water eases the movement and pain a bit - although I got a bit too adventurous on second visit by swimming holding a float and pulled a muscle in my left shoulder blade to match. I've been hobbling around all week and cursing myself. Still, swimming does seem to alleviate the pain. Have you been given any exercises to help? I'm also three months in...

Raining yes, I got sent a suite of exercises after my physio sessions. I can't do all of them because the inflamed tendon means when it is playing up, it pinches the nerve that runs through the shoulder. It's my dominant arm too...😓

That sounds like my issue - although I've not been given exercises to do, other than one, as I couldn't get in to see an NHS physio. Shocking how painful it gets, particularly when lying down. Hope we all feel better soon...
