What to take that's not a multivitamin?

I'm really run down (just finishing up a second antibiotic in two weeks and still whacked from covid two months ago). I need a multivitamin but react really badly to vit b supplements so can't just pick up a tonic or similar. I'm fairly rubbish at taking these things as I need them so rarely. I've got a high strength prebiotic and vit d. What else would be good to boost me?

M&S has immune support ginger drinks, small bottles but good quality.

Iron? DD often feels run down, she has quite heavy periods and we tried an iron supplement and found it does make a difference.

Thanks, I'll have a look at those M&S ones but almost everything has b supplements so I'll check carefully. Weirdly I had bloods done last week and my iron is unusually high. Doc wants to rerun it next week to see if the lurgy I've been battling has caused that or if it might be something like haemochromatosis.

Magnesium. Stress, illness etc depletes it and we don't have nearly enough in our diets now. Really read up on it and then order a good one. I use honest and good.
Magnesium chloride flakes in the bath too.
Often supplementing magnesium is enough to get vitamin d up

Plenty of vitamin c.

Look into the difference in chelated b vitamins vs what's dumped into our flour and most supplements.

I think you need probiotics more than vitamins - antibiotics will kill of good bacteria as well as the bad. Try drinking kefir, or taking probiotics tablets. I’ve also recently tried probiotic chocolate - tastes yummy ohso.com/

I agree that it's the probiotics that you need. Immune defence starts in the gut! Strengthen your gut and everything else will follow.

I take Vit D spray, herbal iron supplement and magnesium.

You can feel run down from haemochromatosis. My eldest has it and felt better after getting it sorted. (She just had to have blood taken regularly for a while until the levels got back to normal and now gets checked once a year.)

You're right, never take iron unless you know you need it!

Thanks for the extra suggestions. Magnesium is another one I can't take, it gives me awful nightmares! I'll look into magnesium rich foods instead. Good to know the prebiotic will help. Just need to make sure I take them Hmm

Prebiotics and probiotics are different. ‘Pre’ is food for good bacteria, ‘pro’ is strains of good bacteria. I think you need to take probiotics, all the better if you take a prebiotic with them. But prebiotics on their own will have limited effect.

Thanks, yes, that was an autocorrect fumble, I have the Udo's blend probiotics here to get me back on track
