Am tempted to take kids but they don't have waterpreofs and the hire of them takes me over my budget for the outing.

Will they let them in with normal school coats and jeans?

It was a few years ago, but when we went we didn’t hire waterproofs (don’t remember it being an option though) and just wore normal clothes/ coat/ gloves.

Try vinted

IceNiceBebeh · 15/03/2022 18:25

@inmyslippers

Try vinted
It's a one off treat (costs us £100 for an hour!) so don't want to spend more money on stuff they won't wear again

Why not just phone them and ask?!?

kittykarate · 15/03/2022 18:31

What are you doing at Chill Factore? If it's skiing I wouldn't fancy it in jeans as they get very cold and heavy.

The downhill donuts and toboggans. Not skiing.

you pretty much have to either hire the gear or have your own. I didn't see anyone in jeans doing the donuts and toboggans when we did it.

Do you think cargo pants or joggers would be OK? Or is it the thick ski pants you have to have?

I have been with the kids into the snow park and they just wore their normal coats and joggers/thick leggings with wellies. Me and DH didn’t have waterproof bottoms either, and wore walking boots. I also didn’t want to pay more to hire gear when it costs so much for the hour!
I know it sounds obvious but it is really cold so lots of layers required and they won’t let you in without gloves. DD is 6 and v skinny and she had to leave after 40mins as she was too cold, I wished I had taken more layers and spare gloves (hers got wet as she got dead excited picking up snow when we first went in 😂) Loads of fun though!

My sister took DC a couple of years ago for toboganning and even in waterproof trousers and wellies they got soaked feet and had to finish before the end of the session because their feet were too cold. Definitely would recommend snow boots and salopettes so they enjoy it. Can you borrow some from a school friend/family?

Essexgirlupnorth · 15/03/2022 19:22

I took my daughter in joggers and a normal coat with wellies for the snow Park. She didn't get to wet but did take a change of clothes for afterwards.
They give you helmets and you will need gloves.

We went several times years ago. We rented all of the kit. From what I remember it wasn't massively expensive.

It's £10 per person. So an extra £50 for us!
