How tired are you everyday on a scale of 1 to 10?

1 being not at all tired, not yawning, not thinking about bedtime, 10 being absolutely shattered, can't wait for bed time, yawning and exhausted.

I have two DS, one is 4 and one has just turned 2. They both end up getting into our bed at night, the youngest still feeds at night, and because of that it's often a squish and an interrupted nights sleep.

I'm utterly exhausted every day, though. For the past month or so I haven't been able to stay up much later that 9/9.30 as I fall asleep on the sofa. I wake up exhausted every morning, can't stop yawning throughout the day, and barely spend any time with my husband as I fall asleep. I don't know if it's normal to feel like this, or if I ought to book in with the doctor to see if there's anything wrong lol. I think day to day I'm at a 3 on the scale.

  1. I care 24/7 for a very sick daughter who has been bed bound for almost 9 years. I never get a full nights sleep I never get time off. Her needs are too complex for external caters, we've tried for years and years. When she goes into hospital I have to stay with her to provide her care. I am exhausted

2-3 most days. I don’t need much sleep any more. I average about 6 hours, and feel tired if it falls below 5.5 hours.

When my children were little (they’re now teens) I was 9 most days and obsessed with sleep - how much I’d had, how many hours until bedtime etc. By the time they actually slept thought the night (4 years old for ds2) I’d got used to not having sleep and adjusted.

I’d say an 8 with 1 toddler, but I go to sleep late and have to wake up too early so probably doing it to myself.

On an average week I range from an 8 to a 10. I've had insomnia on and off for 25 years but it's never been as bad as this latest bout that started in December 2019. However, reading the HRT thread this morning has been a bit of a wakeup call and lots of the things I've put down to lack of sleep such as headaches, brain fog, lack of concentration, no energy, anxiety etc could actually be peri-menopause. I have a big deadline early next week then I'm going to spend some time trying to get myself sorted.
