Center parcs - what to take?

We are going to center parcs for the first time shortly and are very excited!
Me, DH & our toddler.

I've planned to do a full food & drink shop to take with us to try save a bit of money but we are just wondering if there's anything else we should take.

Or any tips what to do and not to do etc?

Monkey nuts for the squirrels!

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 13/03/2022 14:56

Which one are you going to?

We take our own bird food and squirrel food that an activity in itself!

BBQ and marshmallows

You need your own towels for the pool

lulabelled · 13/03/2022 14:58

Take things like condiments, tea, coffee, sugar. A few extra dishwasher tablets and a couple of black bags. Definitely food for the wildlife. Marches, marshmallows and skewers to toast on the fire. I also took some candles so it was nice and relaxing in the evening. Have a great time!

TheVolturi · 13/03/2022 15:03

Don't take too much chilled /frozen food op. The fridge is small and freezer tiny.

axolotlfloof · 13/03/2022 15:05

Snacks and drinks for when out and about.
Lots of towels.
Wet weather gear.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 13/03/2022 15:07

anal lube

Sorry 😁

Onceuponatimethen · 13/03/2022 15:09

We take:

A few extra loo rolls
Washing up liquid
Kitchen towel
2 tea towels
Dishwasher tabs
Bin bags

We find there’s never been enough of any of this.

antidisestablishmentarianism · 13/03/2022 15:11

A clothes airer to drape wet swimming towels and costumes on, otherwise the radiators are always towel covered!

Every ingredient to cook with, so a tiny bottle of oil for example, some herbs, things you normally just grab it of the cupboard at home.

Onceuponatimethen · 13/03/2022 17:00

Tea, coffee, cooking oil

Onceuponatimethen · 13/03/2022 17:05

For toddler age I would recommend getting to the swimming pool first thing in the morning. It is quieter then and good to do slides etc. If you have the cash a cabana is nice for arrival day for the bit before you are allowed in the lodge.

Toddler sensory is great!

Extra dishwasher tablets
Tassimo coffee pods if you plan to use the machine.
Spare tea towel and some kitchen roll
Fire logs

Honestly, people suggest all sorts of stuff they particularly like but if you go with what you like to eat and extras you enjoy then everything else is there and the market is owned by Co-op and is comparable in price and size so you won't be fleeced.

I would say the freezer section is tiny so don't stock up on frozen bits. Things like milk and bread cost the same there as anywhere else so don't worry about it too much.

Onceuponatimethen · 13/03/2022 17:16

Very good point that freezer compartment is small!

toomuchlaundry · 13/03/2022 17:18

Bike lock if taking buggy. Torch

Roselilly36 · 13/03/2022 17:26

You will love it, great holiday with a toddler. Pool towels, book any activities or restaurants in advance, this is a must. Take food, the parc market isn’t cheap, but ok for fresh bread etc. Are you still needing to book pool slots? Extra dishwasher tabs. Your own chalk for the chalk board for the toddler. Enjoy.

Roselilly36 · 13/03/2022 17:27

Yes buy your own fire logs so cheap in home bargains, mega bucks in the parc market.

BrimFullOfAsher · 13/03/2022 17:30

@LadyMonicaBaddingham MN has also ruined any innocent mention of Centre Parcs for me too 😅

I came to say wine and ibuprofen 🤷‍♂️

Redlorryyellowlorryblue · 13/03/2022 17:33

Bird seed, chalk (for blackboard in house), washing up liquid and sponge or dishwasher tablets

Wine

Jumpingintomenopause · 13/03/2022 17:33

Definitely take your own fire logs.
Reusable water bottles, snacks for our during the day.
Loo roll, kitchen roll, washing up liquid and a tea towel.

Clymene · 13/03/2022 17:36

Agree with all the washing up liquid etc stuff. Also take a sharp knife and bin bags. The wifi is generally quite shit which makes streaming telly painful so go retro and take some dvds.

SausagePourHomme · 13/03/2022 17:37

clothes airer is a great idea!
your own oil, salt and pepper, bin bags, tea coffee
I like to take my own mug - drinks don't taste right otherwise
tea towels
a pack of cards, jigsaw
hdmi cable and a laptop with some movies downloaded
