You might be right about cheap printers not existing, which maybe would be a good thing if the ones you could buy actually worked reliably for a number of years and didn't cost a fortune in ink.
I had to buy a new printer at the beginning to the pandemic because our existing laser printer that was maybe 5 or so years old, thought that would be the perfect time to stop working, just as I started WFH.
Of course none could be found in any of the normal shops where someone would find such an item (Argos, Currys, JL, Amazon, larger supermarkets) but I finally found one from www.printerland.co.uk. It was £100, which was more than I was expecting to pay, given that the previous two laser printers had cost around £60, but needs must and all that.
The cheapest similar one is now around £126 (I got an older model) but it's not been 100% reliable, I've mostly had to print one page at a time manually because the sheet feeder jammed more often than not, but DP used it the other day, was dreading it, because he had to print 30 pages and he's not a patient man with technology but the bastard thing did all 30 pages out of the tray for him with no issues
so he's now in charge of printing in this house.
Anyway, have a look here
