Wooden flooring through a house- cost?

I literally have no idea as a benchmark what this would cost. We are moving house, we need to change flooring in average sized living room, hall, dining, conservatory, stairs, tiny landing, and three double bedrooms.

DH thinks we will be able to afford wooden / similar to wooden throughout. I think this is going to be wildly expensive. Any ideas on ROUGHLY what this would cost?

I would work out the dimensions of your floors and then time it by the cost of the flooring per meter. No one can tell you without knowing how large your house is.

Costs can vary a lot between the different brands and if you are going for wood effect lino/laminate/wood effect tiles/actual wooden planks/etc

I like the Balterio brand of laminate flooring which has a good length of warranty. It can cost anywhere between £17 to £37 per square meter.

Whatever the cost of the product....you will pay a similar amount ( or likely more) for labours and associated costs ....do some measurements.....choose your product then you can do some sums

When we moved into our 4 bed new build, we paid 5k for flooring in the whole house, we have LVT downstairs, Lino in bathrooms and carpet everywhere else.

The cost would have been 6.5K for wood flooring instead of LVT.

At a GUESS : 5-10k depending on size/quality (I’ve recently moved & changed flooring, but mix of wood, tiles & carpet)

Do you actually want to have the same flooring in the whole house?

The LVT stuff is comparable to carpet price wise. What about the bathroom & kitchen- are they tiled?

You need to measure, go to a showroom to look and then compare prices online

Also, choose the quality in line with the overall cost/finish of your house & how long you plan to stay there. I spent a fair bit on carpets (3.5k for 2 bedrooms, stairs & landing) BUT I’m expecting 15 years out of it

You may also decide on flooring based on how long it will take to get fitted. Where will you put your furniture while floors being done? If it’s the whole house will you move it from room to room?

And do you really want wood on the stairs (so noisy!).

Do you know the floor area, even roughly?

We've just bought ours from Direct Wood Flooring, and could price it up on the page for each floor. We didn't shop around a lot online, but I'd imagine all of the flooring websites will let you do this. Then you just need to factor in any labour and/or underlayment, but they're not unique to wooden flooring.

Go for bamboo. Looks much nicer than laminate and is cheaper than proper wood. Can't remember how much ours cost but we got it from the Bamboo Flooring Company. They kind of cook it to bring out the sugars and it's a lovely rich colour.
