In 2018 I took some photos of a man like being whilst out on a long walk with my dogs only to discover he did not appear in the photos!
At the time I used to go to a place called the Richard Burton trials in Wales during the week when it was very quiet. It’s a beautiful area but a vast area and whilst I would sometimes see maybe more than a half a dozen cars in the car park, I would often go and not see a soul and possibly over 2/3 years of going there only ever encountered a couple of people on separate occasions with their dogs.
On this occasion we were walking along a path by the river.
I could see a man ahead he was stationary by the side of the river.
I’m not one of these women who thinks there’s a rapist behind every tree so I wasn’t alarmed or concerned about seeing him and for all I know he did have a dog running around nearby.
My dogs as usual were running ahead but they stopped as they got nearer to him and one actually barked at him which was most unusual at the first time I’ve ever seen or heard him bark!
The dogs turned and came back to my side and walked behind me which is something they do normally when it rains but this was a lovely sunny day.
As we got nearer to the man he had turned to face me he was very tall exceptionally tall especially for here in Wales where I often find the majority of people are short in stature. I’m English but have moved to Wales.
My husband is 6 foot two and this man was taller quite a bit taller possibly as much as another 6 inches taller, so he was an imposing figure.
What struck me was that he was dressed all in the same colour which was a very light Beije and the jacket or coat that he was wearing was oversized and didn’t have any pockets or any fastening stats I could immediately see. It was almost like a costume that he was wearing. He had matching trousers and wore ankle boots do exactly the same colour as the top and the bottoms he was wearing. The fabric of the top was like a moleskine.
My first thought was that he looked like a male model on a catwalk! Those very good looking Italian models that you used to see in the 90s that modelled for Versace and D&G.
His hair was black and closely cropped like the action man figures when they had the fuzzy hair.
He didn’t appear to have a bag or anything else within fishing equipment camera phone anything, he didn’t appear to be holding anything.
As I approached him I was slightly startled because his eyes didn’t seem to have any whites they were all black but I put this down to a trick of the sunlight as it was a very bright sunny day.
He suddenly brought his arms up and placed a pair of sunglasses upon his face to cover his eyes.
I am a sunglasses aficionado, I am obsessed with them so I paid particular attention to them.
They were jet black and not as deep as swimming goggles but they cupped the eye area and looked to be made of polycarbonate and with no branding that I could see in the very very short space of time as I passed him.
He was incredibly handsome like a Roman statue that had been finally chiselled. His lips, nose and chin were perfection. His skin was lightly tanned and smooth with absolutely no sign of any stubble. No blemishes, he was stunning.
I said good afternoon but he didn’t reply. His face was emotionless.
I thought he must be ‘foreign’.
The dogs gave him a wide berth and as we passed he slowly turned and was looking at me as I was looking at him.
He gave me no reason to feel frightened of him but it was an odd encounter as I was very curious about his outfit as the coat/jacket had no fastenings in the front but was clearly an outer garment.
We carried on walking and the dogs stayed behind me and I kept turning back and the man had fully turned and was watching me/us walk away from him.
I took my phone out and clicked off a few shots of the dogs with the man clearly in the background of around twenty thirty feet away and then carried on walking but turning around every now and then to look back at him. As we hit further away I turned around again and he was gone. Completely gone.
As we walked on I looked at the photos and he was not in any of them. They were the big standard photos of the dogs trotting along the path and the man was not in any of them.
I don’t know what I saw. I passed by weighing three feet of him. He was real.
The dogs stayed close for the remainder of the walk which was unusual as the love to canter and gallop ahead when the weather is nice.
I did google to see if there was any films being made in the area as he did look like he was wearing a costume but found nothing.
