Go on holiday somewhere you know and love or try somewhere new?

I never thought I'd be one of those people who went to the same place every year, but pre Covid we had 2 wonderful holidays in the same hotel. DC loved it, DH and I loved it.

It's silly but I feel everywhere else will be measured up to the same place- but what if we go back and it's all changed?

(yes, first world problems)

Somewhere new, it's a mini adventure.

I’m terrible for being happy to go back to the same place over and over again. Next week we’re going to a hotel for the fourth time. Last summer we stayed in a (different) self-catering place for the third time, and were gutted we couldn’t get it again for this year 😂 It’s deeply unadventurous, but it’s also really nice looking forward to it and knowing exactly how much you’re going to enjoy it. If it ticks all the boxes for what you want, and you just want to chill out rather than explore, why not?

We do this too, and it's just lovely and stress-free as we know that the accommodation will be perfect 😄. We're also planning on going on a new short break or two this year.

Go back to the place you love. We had a few years trying different places but returning to our favourite this year. I am looking forward to it even more. It's so hard to find somewhere the whole family like. It's lovely to know where everything is as soon as you get there too

With DC I'd go to the place you all love. Eventually they will grow out of it, but for now enjoy it.

Always somewhere new - there are so many fantastic places to discover. Imagine if you'd never gone to the place you love because you kept going back to the place before

We do this every few years. We have our favourite holiday which we go to every two or three years and then we try new places in between. If you know you’ll love it I would go back.

It’s a big world, and you only get one lifetime to explore it. I have only twice revisited a destination, and only then because one of my DDs missed out the first time.
It’s good for kids to encounter a lot of different languages, cultures, history and customs.

It is tempting to go back but we don't after once staying in a hotel full of folk who had been going there in the same weeks each year for more than 30 years. It was nice, everyone recognised each other but a lot of them said they went back because it felt safe there.
So I would worry that you could get scared to try anything new after a while.

I agree with all the positives and all the negatives Grin

Slightly leaning towards somewhere new, as you say, it is a big world and it is lovely to see new places.
