I am am in frigging agony!! Currently taking 500mg naproxen twice a day. Icing and using heat, have high arch insoles, supportive shoes, using rigid taping, do all the stretches.

I’ve got a referral for the foot clinic, but I’ll probably have cut my foot off by the time that comes through.

I work on my feet (really don’t want to take time off) is there anything else I can try? I can barely put my foot to the floor/weight bear, and it’s making my other foot hurt now from the weird way I’m walking.

I had it a few years ago when I was overweight after having my DD, I lost weight and it went away, I've never had it since.

I know this is a thread from March but can anyone recommend the best type of flip flop for PF. Mines more in the arch of the foot no heel pain. I have my daughter’s wedding in a week’s time, it’s abroad, and really need to ease the pain. Thanks

Flip flops are no good for PF. You need a shoe that is attached to your foot and has a good supportive sole.
Any shoe not attached to your foot causes it to be mis-shapen, this causes pain.

I found stretches and also rubbing Ibuprofen gel into my feet would see symptoms away within ten days when they started.

But don't use ibuprofen gel while you are on naproxen, unless you have medical advice to say it's ok.

I agree with @KangarooKenny bit if you desperately have to have a flip flop type of shoe then have a look at Fit Flop brand sandals and shoes

Powerplant · 09/07/2022 11:11

Sorry should have said Fit Flop not flip flop. Is there a particular one that people have found helpful? Will have a google. Been doing stretches exercises this morning and it helps but realise this will be ongoing.

No amount of stretching my foot or rolling it on a frozen bottle of water helped. The laser was the only thing that shifted it, followed by a lifetime of supportive footwear.
