Travelling to Italy

We're due to go to Italy in April, and the rules (currently) are we have to show proof of negative LFT done no less then 48 hours before we enter.

It's only my 7 year old who needs to do this, I'm fully vaxxed and DD has had it and has the certificate etc.

My question is... where do we show this? And how?
I can't be taking a test into the airport no?
So I register him with NHS and he gets an account that I log the result with?
Do I show that at check in?
I can find the guidelines of who has to test etc but I'm unclear on what I do after that...

Anyone who can simplify it for me, I would greatly appreciate it!!

On this screenshot it looks like you have to get the test result in paper form? I'm in Italy and as far as I know, all tests have to be administered by HCPs (no self-administered tests) so I guess you just book one and then take the paperwork?

Thanks.

Maybe it'll be clearer once I do the passenger locator form.
Such a faffy system.

You have to book and pay for an LFT with a government approved provider. You can’t use one of the free NHS tests. You will be sent the result in a certificate which you can print out or show on your phone.

You can't use an NHS test, or a self administered test unless it's one of those video monitored ones. You need to find a provider who dies tests for travel & they will provide you with the correct documentation. For many countries there is the option to upload the test results when you complete the passenger locator form . If not, you show it at check in at the Airport. In any case take a paper copy with you.

You have to get it from one of the private companies doing them for travel - there are loads of them.

DH and I are travelling to Italy in April and had looked in to this before they relaxed the rules, even our local pharmacy was doing them.

If you just google your town and Covid travel test you will find places doing them.

Amazing. Thanks so much.

I'll get on that later and booked for the day before if possible.

Of course hopefully you might not need it- the current restrictions are until 31/3.

FlorhamPark · 08/03/2022 16:40

I did the test and took the paperwork- no one asked to see it!

AnnaMagnani · 08/03/2022 16:44

Yes, hang on booking. The rules might change yet!
