I am BEGGING for help

Hotel receptionist and guest services. Have to apply by midnight

I’ve been a nanny and ran households for 17y and been a Personal assistant alongside for 4 of those

I have great telephone etiquette, I can advise on places to visit for families, couples etc, I can get things in that guests request/ require, I can track down things they need, I can make bookings for restraints and services

I can do it all but I don’t know at all how to write it down. My cv is entirely nanny orientated

Please help

Absolutely no wisdom to offer but love the title and I’m rooting for you 😂🙌🏼

I think the skills based Cv suggested above is a good idea. Use the skills they are asking for in the job advert, then in under each skill title, give a couple of bullet pointed examples showing what action you took, and what the result was.

Mention the reason you want to work at this specific hotel. Is it the hotel's location, reputation, specific facilities that attracted you? Do you like the fact it is very large/small/boutique/chain? Etc

Tell them the skills you can bring to the team; your excellent people skills, coping in high pressure environment, managing diaries, thinking on your feet, adaptability, safe guarding and communication skills. How your years of putting your new parents at ease will transfer well to dealing with and reassuring guests.

Remember to write what you will bring to the hotel, and not how good the hotel will be for you. Good luck.

My CV advice for new starters or movers in to my industry is usually show don't tell. So many list soft skills at the top and they're utterly subjective. Who says they're 'organised'? Is their version of organised the same as mine? But if they can demonstrate organisation skills then that tells me so much more. It doesn't matter if those skills were in a different industry, so long as they've done the translating. So a specific bit of NHS software would mean nothing, but tell me that you were responsible for looking after sensitive data, maintaining spreadsheets for whole departments etc then I know the kind of thing you do pretty quickly.

I don’t think it’s my finest work but it is sent so let’s see!

Thank you so much for the help, I really appreciate it!!
