In a few weeks, if all goes as expected, I'll become an uncle for the first time. I've been wanting to buy a present of some sort, whether practical or otherwise. But this is very much not my area of expertise, I have little to no idea what would be appreciated by/useful for the parents or enjoyed by the child. The baby will be a girl if it matters, also it will be the mother's 3rd child but the father's first. Any ideas?

Ask what they need. By brother got me a tumble dryer for my 1st & a weekly cleaner for a month for my 2nd.

How old are the other kids? I assume its your brother and SIL so your step nieces / nephews? I'd say its good policy to get the kids something small too so it isn't all about the usurper.

Small cuddly for baby or outfit (soft materials that look comfy to roll about in) in 3-6.
Chocolates for Mom
Miniature spirit for Dad to wet the baby's head
