Where to find support if you feel you don't "fit in"?

After the discovery of what my DH has been doing (that came as no surprise to me) I joined a few support groups on FB. The experience so far has been horrible and has given me more anxiety than before, because it has resurfaced the whole idea that I'm "odd". I don't think like some people and that does make me clash, but how can I find where to "fit in"? (Without having to change who I am).

Can you join something that you share interests in? Have you tried the website meetups?

In what way do you clash?

So in this support group, the other women literally felt cheated (and I could understand why) but I don't (and they couldn't get that I never would). They kept giving me reason after reason of why it would happen one day. But, I know myself and I've always felt this way, maybe for at least the last 20 years when I first pondered about it. They couldn't see that my issues (albeit still issues) around it were very different but still valid.

What are the support groups for?

Onlyrainbows · 06/03/2022 16:21

"partners of porn addicts/users" type of thing

Are you ND or suspect you might be OP?

Onlyrainbows · 06/03/2022 16:56

ND?

Neurally diverse

Onlyrainbows · 06/03/2022 17:55

Ah no, definitely not. I've dealt with enough MH professionals because I thought something had to be "wrong" with me, but no they've just said that mentally I'm "normal" (as with the usual neurosis) but just don't fit with the "norm" in terms of opinions

Have you tried the relationships board on here OP? that can be a supportive place. Perhaps it will help more to speak to people with an objective opinion rather than those who have been through similar but don't see it the same way as you?

I'm a total outlier here too... So no point
